Posted on July 9, 2010 at 10:16 am by trebleshot under Marvel Toy News

Exclamation Comics has posted a new image of wave 3 of the Iron Man 2 Comic Series figures. The three pictured are:

  • Iron Monger
  • Arctic Iron Man
  • Modern Iron Man (“Tin Man”)
Other figures in the wave 3 assortment include the previously-released Hulkbuster and Red & Gold armors, as well as a new Silver Centurion armor (no images on this yet).

Personally I think these look badass

^ I agree. I just hope I actually see them in stores. The pegs are still flooded with the first waves and it doesn't look like they're going anywhere.

Kohls might be your best bet to find new ones. Worked for me with the hulkbuster wave.

oh hell yeah! i can't wait to get that wave! i'm mst excited about the Modern "tin man" armor, the ML equivalent was by far my most favorite during it's time and i'm glad to see this smaller, upgraded version, but that arctic armor will definitely get the Iron Patriot treatment.

Yeah that Blue Comic Iron Monger looks brilliant, can't say much for the other two though?? Still probaly end up e-baying these like the last wave cos there still stuck on wave 1 here too

    Continuing on what SnowFlakian said

Uncommon places that have these figures; Iron Man 2 is obviously huge so a lot of basic stores will carry a few figures for sale appeal, though it may be jacked up.

    In my area I use:

    FYE (For your Entertainment)
    Suncoast
    Walgreens
    CVS
    Kohls
Grocery Stores (depends on the franchise owner)

I'll get the other two, but don't see myself getting Iron Monger.

These look great, I have throughly enjoyed this entire line so far. Just wish that the local stores would do better at getting them in.

I think the 6" figures have come and gone. They were pretty limited in their release.

    Re: Iron Monger

i REALLY hate when they do comic figs that were meant to be black/dark grey in blue ~ the only reason Iron Monger was Blue in the comics was because back in the day (pre glossy stock) it was really hard to print black tonally, so they'd use Blue as a substitute ~ I hate when they do the blue highlights on black-costume Spidey for the same reason...

    nice looking mold though.

Was the Tin Man Iron Man the pre-extremis version?

Arctic Iron Man looks like a future peg-warmer.

jameslruddy.... in response, I actually picked up a Mark V yesterday from my local Walmart, there was like 5-6 left but only 1, the 1 I got had no paint issues... the rest had the helmet jacked up the red line going down the top of the mask was sometimes not perfect, bleeding onto the silver parts so took me a while to find a good 1, they are out there.... some stores just take longer bring in additional waves... usually they judge on how they sell, if they sell fast the keep reordering same amount, and each time it can be a different wave then the last... I've got my walmart exclusives war machine, Mark v and iv, so pretty content... but if i found a whiplash, nick furry or black widow I'd pick em up in a heart beat... the only figures I haven't seen that I should of are the MARK 1 and the deep sea diver.. I have them in 3 3/4'' scale but not 6 but it does show em on the back of the package,,.. anybody come across these in 6'' format?

It can be annoying, but I think it's fine as long as a properly-colored version is released as well. And given Hasbro's penchant for redecos, it might eventually happen.

Correct, although there were a few more versions/variants in between the two. Exclesior07's excellent thread here is my go-to source on Tony's many, many armors.

I see him as custom fodder, specifically for Iron Patriot. Hopefully, that will make sure he doesn't collect dust for too long. I'm more worried about more Red & Gold armors. Those already pegwarm around here, along with tons of the Mark VI.

I am liking the way that this Iron Monger looks. I can see me picking one up to convert over into Apocolypse. Then, with ArchAngel and a few other customs, the 4Horsemen of Apocolypse can ride.

Front page spelling error: Artic instead of Arctic.

I want the Iron Monger to repurpose into a Cobalt Man, I am ok with movie verse Iron Monger and then combined with IM, Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man I can have a royal smackdown on shellhead! What's with the new hips?

Sorry to say but those weren't 6inch figures they were the 3.75 figures they were used as filler images...and to prove that look at the articulation its identical to the 3.75 figures. the 6inch figures have completely different joints as in the knee and elbow joints.

Yes their the 3.75 no denying it.
