Iron Man 2 Holographic Mark VI And Hulkbuster Iron Monger

Posted on May 18, 2010 at 10:58 am by Shin Densetsu under Marvel Toy News

Hktoyking2009 has posted auctions up for all new Iron Man 2 figures. Hot on the heels of the recent Iron Man 2 Comic Series release of the Hulkbuster armor comes a Iron Man 2 Movie Series version! Up now are:

  • Iron Man Mark VI Holographic Armor
  • Movie Series Hulkbuster
  • Movie Series Recon War Machine

Bear in mind, the names associated with these auctions may be tentative. The Recon War Machine shown is a repaint with camouflage paint apps. Note that the Iron Monger used for the Hulkbuster armor repaint also features a retooled head sculpt! Perhaps this pays homage to the repaint of the 6″ Iron Monger in Iron Man colors from the 1st movie line? Could the translucent blue Iron Man Mark VI armor actually be the Iron Man Ultimate Armor mentioned here? Or could the Hulkbuster shown here actually be the Ultimate Armor, and could the blue Mark VI be the Iron Man Stealth Armor? Click on the title bar to see more, and hit the discuss button to share your thoughts and guesses!

These are pretty meh for me, especially the HB armor. The comic version just blows this one away IMO.

I plan on buying both Hulkmonger and HoloTony at retail but most likely passing on camo Machine. The Kmart one is HARD to beat, the paint apps on that one kick all ass.

that is a bucket of fail right there ~ the camo war machine's not bad, but wholly unnecessary. Theres a reason all the non-movie characters gather dust while the 'official' ones fly off the shelves...

Let's talk about a multi-pack of drones, mmmm-kay Hasbro. And more bad guys for the Comic series...

(and i still want a Blue Stark Racing car with "driver tony" and the suitcase)

Drones are in wave 4, don't know if the figures shown today are from wave 4 or later. I think Hulkmonger and holo Mark VI look cool. Sometimes I prefer the "offscreen" figures.

I actually like that War Machine. I didn't buy the 3 3/4" version because of the stupid gigantic minigun missile launcher, but slap on an accurate one like in the photo and a cool alternate paint job and you've got my business. Although a 6" would be even better...

The hologram / stealth one is cool too. Actually, all three are pretty cool. I'll probably pick them all up, plus the drones whenever they come out.

These are probably concept wave figures to go with the movie ones(fury, widow, stark, rhodey), and upcoming comic ones(modern armor, centurion, etc).

I wish they'd do more armored baddies and comic cast though too. I'm all for the comic based armors to be covered, but I'd like some more character variety too. Especially after the awesomeness that Titanium Man and Dynamo are.

I'm going to have to agree. The comic version of the Hulkbuster looks way cooler. This "movie version" looks more like a fan made custom.
I mean I can't fault them for the idea to retool the mold so as to get more use out of it. I can see the logic behind the concept here, I just don't think it really works that well.

the hulk buster and war machine look like custom jobs not actual figures I mean why reuse the monger body and not make a new hulkbuster design to me thats fake and the war machine looks like a shitty repaint only one that looks real is the clear one.

I like the Holo armor, it even looks like a new sculpt, and I totally believe that the War Machine armor would get a camo paint job. My problem is with Hulk Monger, new head and all, because the mold in no way fits any comic appearance. Plus, he has open palms what is he going to do slap box the Hulk?

oh wow you actually think hasbro is above remolding/painting/tooling their figures?

Their typical track pattern from the past years has been to retool/repaint every mold at least once.

exactly, which is why these figures shouldn't be counted out so early as possible retail figures

Of course I said "pretty sure" and not "definitely" so feel free to get off your overly defensive high horse.
