Master Grade Wing Gundam

Posted on February 23, 2010 at 1:28 am by Shin Densetsu under Gundam Model Kit News

The latest issue of Hobby Japan reveals a new entry into the Master Grade series of 1/100 Gundam models, the MG Wing Gundam! This is the version from the Gundam Wing TV series, and the last time we saw a TV Wing Gundam in 1/100 scale, was over a decade ago with the HG(High Grade) version.

We’ve seen different versions of the Wing Gundam in the MG line, be it the initial design by Hajime Katoki, to the Endless Waltz version. This release outdoes it’s HG predecessor with much more detail and moving parts. It can also transform into it’s bird-like mobile armor mode. It is set for release in April. NEW LEGEND.

DUDE YOU ROCK. I cannot wait for this kit! I love me some Gundam Wing, but when I was in Japan, most Gundamers...Gundam Otaku... did not watch the series.

Are you serious? Gundam Wing is the best gundam series out there! Did they explain why they did not watch? BTB I'm getting 3 of these when they come out!

No. It's just that more people seemed to either have a strong love for SEED or Universal Century.

Most people consider Endless Waltz to be the best but...I love the original Wing design. I picked up all 6 HCM Pro figures while I was there too!

I think there are plently of fans out there for Wing in Japan but not enough.

I highly disagree that Wing is the best series, but the designs were cool as hell. I've heard that the Japanese never really liked Wing either, but it's really different compared to most of the other series and not in a good way... It was easy for everyone to jump on board for Seed since it's all modernized with the pretty boy/girl aesthetics.. If Wing was released today it would probably be more well-received... Oh wait, it has been(Gundam 00, 10 times better than Wing)

    /End Elitism

The model looks great, by the way. Let's see an Epyon too!

I've never actually seen X, I was never interested in it. By the way, did you ever get my pm's about photos of the stuff you picked up for me Johnny? I'm still wanting to get them

UC rules! 00 is good though. Admittedly, I don't care for SEED except for the Astray side stories and designs.

Wing was successful internationally and a bit hit with females; another reason it is a popular Gundam.

UC all the way for me though. The story is awesome. Grew to love the RX-78-2 design too.

Yeah, UC all the way. The RX-78 is one of my favorite designs, myself. How about the 00 movie? Not sure how it will be, but the mechs look cool. Especially Raphael.

Do you think we will see MG versions of Gundam Deathscythe, Heavyarms, Sandrock, Shenlong, Epyon & Tallgeese after ''Wing''?

Me to. But then Again I never understood why Bandai would release a MG Turn A Gundam BEFORE Wing. Was Turn A really that popular in Japan?
