Reissue MOTUC Skeletor Image Gallery

Posted on December 16, 2009 at 2:28 pm by TM2 D-bot under Masters Of The Universe Toy News

AFI got their hands on a pre-release reissue Skeletor for the Masters of the Universe Classics line. Just like the reissue He-Man sold last month, his packaging now includes “The Original” on the front tight corner. His face paint has been improved, the left hand corrected, and a reference to Demo-Man in his bio.

Click above for all images.

*Update: Skeletor has sold out in 39 minutes*

Update 2 posted at Mattycollector’s Facebook page:

SKELETOR UPDATE: To let all He-Fan knows, not all units of old bonehead arrived in time for yesterday’s sale. While this shipment of Skeletor sold out in record time, we’ve now confirmed more are coming (similar to Mer-Man back in April). Hopefully the remaining order will be here in first quarter 2010. As soon as we confirm they’ve arrived, we’ll post an update.

Cool. I still wish they'd color/paint those wrist armor areas. They were never painted on the original toys, and aren't painted here either. It always looked to me like it was armor, not part of their skin.

As cool as this is, I actually like the 02 line Skeletor better. If they re-did that, I'd get it.

I believe they are supposed to be armor (I always thought so, too), but they skimped out on the paint apps in the 80's. My guess is the new one doesn't have it either because this is a direct homage to the original toy.

I missed out on that awesome skeletor in 2002, when i was just a high schooler.

This comes out in the right time and right moment.

Differences between the reissue and original release as stated by Toyguru at He-Man.org:

    Quote:
We won't (alas) have Skeletor samples to send out before he goes on sale, but really the only change is to give him the tighter grip hand and looser loin cloth material. Otherwise he is the same fig in an update package with "The Original" burst just like He-Man. All reissues will have this burst.

Totally missed Skeletor today--never had a chance really since it sold out so fast and Matty Collector had problems. Why the heck didn't they offer more of them?

    So disappointed!!

Me too cinemajay, me too. I think it was downright bloody ridiculous to offer that many items on one day and not expect their server to have problems, clearly education and common sense is not a valued commodity in their marketing/distribution departments. I feel bad for the Goddess now, she's just sitting there wanting people to buy her and I would have expected her to sell out just to fulfill fanboys' fantasies regarding Teela being covered in lime jello but guess not.

I'm just hopping on board here, but I've been posting on Fwoosh and a few other sites for awhile.
I'll be there to grab a reissue (since he sold out so quickly)even though I have the first release. I'm confused by something though..My skeletor has his jewel painted on his chest already, why was it showing as a new thing. I didn't really see much of a difference in his face..is the only big change his hand?

Welcome to the Toyark and hope you stick around

Pixel Dan also received an early reissue Skeletor for review, but when he compared it to his old figure he found both to be completely identical. After contacting Matty, they realized they had sent him an incorrect fig so he withheld the review. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but it's entirely possible.

Eh, maybe ill just trade one of my extra MOTUC for a Skeletor Reissue now instead of waiting for Mattel to get their crap together and wishing on a star that I score on when they put him on sale again.
