48 Special Models has posted new, up close images of the upcoming 1/18 F-14A Tomcat VF-84 Jolly Rogers by JSI. These new images show even more details than previous shots, giving us a closer look at the randome and AWG-9 radar, and more!
The names behind the canopy are an homage to two individuals who are famous within the Jolly Rogers community. The pilot is listed as Commander Marty Chanik. His call sign was “Streak”, and this former F-14 pilot reached the rank of Vice Admiral before retirement, and was a former commander of the Jolly Rogers. Ensign Jack Ernie was a Jolly Rogers pilot killed in action during World War II. Every time a new commander is inducted, a “passing of the bones” ceremony is conducted, in which the outgoing commander passes the skull and crossbones of Jack Ernie(in a glass case), to the incoming commander. It’s a tradition unique to the Jolly Rogers and continues to this day with their newest incarnation, VFA-103.

JSI 1/18 F-14A Tomcat VF-84 Jolly Rogers Up Close
Thanks for the pictures Shin, I'm sorry to repeat it guys, but I just can't wait to have mine!
Anyone know if the GI Joe will fit in the cockpit of this plane?
nice, really nice ordnance, man this is going to be great.
Won't be long before the Skystriker customs start rolling in...
Roy? Is that you?
I was able to play around yesterday with a prototype that merrit had and yes the 25th style joes fit perfect.
Any idea how much this bad boy will cost?
that is beautiful piece of art
The major concern I have with the F-14 prototype is the Canter of the Tails. Will this be fixed for the production model? and it has a lot of F-14 B stuff except for the engine nozzels
eeh, i realized that after i made that comment, but still did anyone notice that the vf-84 is not straight.
Thanks Shin that is exactly what I meant, and thanks for getting and posting all this information. I think you mentioned in another thread that they may fix this on the production one, I hope so.
And thank you Sapphireneonut, that VF-84 does look bad, hopefully just the prototype.
Back to reality guys! The MAIN question is how long before we can buy this "gattone" ? I recall someone wrote it was going to be available from the end of Oct. and the beginning of Nov. Any (good) news about it?
Ciao da Roma.
i just asked sam at jsi, hopefully get answer soon.
