New Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Images

Posted on October 16, 2009 at 4:58 pm by Shin Densetsu under Power Rangers Toy News

Thanks to TFW2005 boards member Gryph, we now have images of the 2010 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toys! This throwback line features predominantly new toys, with a retooled Tyrannosaurus Rex zord, which enables knee articulation on the combined Megazord. As fans still hope for a fully articulated Megazord, could one be on the way? The toys shown include:

  • Original Ranger team
  • Putties
  • Goldar
  • Morpher with Green Ranger
  • Transforming Green Ranger/Dragonzord
  • Motorcycle and figure sets
  • Megazord with motorcycle limbs

I don't know about you, but I will be getting the deluxe figures. Those actually look REALLY good. Also the Goldar...everything else though...its already been addressed.

    Holy crap!

I totally wanted them to not add the skirt on the yellow ranger and they didn't, that's awesome! Maybe its just me, but I'm excited for these!

My ultimate dream for this line is a Soul of Chogokin Megazord designed by Bandai Japan, brought over here by the Tamashii/Toynami partnership.

Other than that, I still await for a fully articulated Megazord figure..which I have yet to see.

The regular Ranger figures look decent, but I was hoping for better articulation. And after 16 years, you would think they could have colored weapons. Oh well, I'll probably get them anyway.

Is the Green Ranger a re-pack of the Super Legends chase figure from last year? I've been meaning to get it, but if this is the same figure, I'll wait and save about $35.

The green ranger dragon might be all I pick up. But maybe goldar too, not sure. Overall these do like disappointing though. Hopefully they'll make it up with new molds later in the waves of badguys and mechs. I got kinda spoiled by the Jungle Fury figures though, if only they had the right weapons and more of the badguys.
Like the geki claw, gekichopper blade, mele's new form, and rio's new form. I'd have been all over those. Oh well.

Because I broke my goldar when I was like 4.

I think everyone who is disappointed by these toys was expecting too much. This the usual Bandai of America fare. I actually like the majority of the stuff.

I don't think it's too much to expect at least the articulation used in Jungle Fury. It'd just be nice to have that, with some actual monsters, or even the Nega Rangers. Bad enough we got skimped out on for the two final forms of Mele and Rio, but I would have forgiven them if some monsters or mecha actually used that articulation in figure size. My candy kits are lonesome without something more than Zedd or the Green Ranger to pose against.

Lame. They really really need to make an "American Friendly" Rita Replusa and actually produce it.

Wow I can believe people are disappointed by these. I had all of the 12 inch piece's of crap figures for the first series. I lost count how many times they fell apart and were replaced. And we never had any respectable representations on them ever. Aside from the 3 3/4 figures from Mcdonalds from the movie.

Best selling point with these "They have their weapons".

I for one will be getting all of the deluxe figs and a retooled/ new mold combiner Megazord if they do indeed come out with one.

    Edit:
A lot better than these? Nay I say sir Nay.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just picked up the Red and Blue Rangers. I will be doing a review on them in the next couple of days.

The retail for $5.86 at Wal-Mart. I wish I could've picked up more, but alas, I'm not rich. No sign of the zords or vehicles yet, just figures.

    Out now:
Green Ranger w/ Dragon Dagger and Jetpack thingie
Black Ranger w/ Power Axe and Jetpack thingie
Pink Ranger w/ Power Bow and jetpack thingie
Blue Ranger w/ Power Lance and jetpack thingie
Yellow Ranger w/ Power Daggers and jetpack thingie
Red Ranger w/ Power Sword and Jetpack thingie
Putty Patroller w/ THE POWER BLASTER (WTF? THE COMBINED FORM OF ALL RANGER WEAPONS?)
Goldar w/ Sword and His Wings. Yes, you can take away his wings just like in the show!
Alpha 5 w/ Zordon Head/Tube. You fill the tube with water, and zordons head floats! eerie. Zordon in this release resembles his Movie incarnation (he's not blue).

Also of note, there is a Wal-Mart exclusive gift pack that retails for $14.86. The figures it contains are of the same scale but NOT the same quality. There is less articulation and fewer paint apps. This pack includes Lord Zedd, Red Ranger, Pink Ranger, Black Ranger, and Green Ranger. They all seem to have the same weapons as the single releases. At this time I do not know if there is or will be a single pack for Lord Zedd at all or not, so if you want one, you may want to pick the pack up. It's good for display if nothing else.

Wow saw these at the store, they look like they would have been okay in the mid 90's but Bandai America pulled a Playmates' Star Trek/Terminator with this line; making new toys that already feel dated! Goldar doesn't even have elbow joints!

If these were at the same scale as they are know, but articulated like the Teen Titans 5" figures from a few years back, I'd possibly be all over these.

The only retooling the Megazord seems to have is knee joints and being able to connect to the bikes. Uh...yeah...

Still waiting for a SOC style Megazord..like that will ever happen..

Well, here are images of the figures to demonstrate the quality and articulation. Overall, these figures are really well done.

There are 17 points of articulation on the rangers, not yet sure as to the other figures such as goldar and alpha 5, will know soon enough though.

The weapons are molded in a soft black plastic and don't seem as though they'll break easily at all, the only drawback is that they cannot combine into the power blaster as they did 16 years ago, that's what the putty patroller is for apparently.

I've got images of the packaging as well, the cardbacks seem to be generically styled with only the bubbles and labels being different between figures.

The next two pics are to demonstrate just how fun articulation can be. Introducing first, The Crane Stance followed by...

...Well, frankly I don't know quite what to call this one.

Wow. I just saw these at the store, and I am profoundly disappointed. I was expecting these to be 6 inch, like the Jungle Fury and Super Legends chase figures (Zedd and the green, white and gold rangers). And at least the same level of quality and articulation.

Instead, these are 4 inch and very unimpressive. These might have been decent, back in 1993.

It doesn't help that we were teased with the Super Legends chase figures. I was really hoping to get a full set of rangers in that scale.

I was psyched that the old show was being aired again, and we were getting all-new toys to go with it. Now I'm rather "meh" about it. I'll just spend $40 to get the SL Green Ranger from ebay, and drag out my old PR toys.

How do they compare to MU in scale?
