Wish I could go, I'd love to meet Sgt. Slaughter.
Didn't he work for the WWE for awhile? Not sure what he did, but I recall him showing up from time to time. I mean I know he originally was a wrestler for decades, but I recall him being one of the suits.
He still works for the WWE from time to time. He's what's known in the industry as a Bookie. They're the ones who write the storylines and set up the matches. Occasionally they'll interact with their own storylines, usually as a manager or a WWE employee, but mostly it's a behind-the-scenes job.
I thought they let him go last year?
Beginning of this year, actually. But that was only from his booking duties. He's now an "Ambassador" (read: spokesman) for the WWE.
Of course, that doesn't mean he won't return for future storylines. It all depends on the bookie and Slaughter's health.
