Toyark.com boards member sapphireneonut has brought us news about JSI‘s highly anticipated 1/18 scale F-14A Tomcat! We heard before that it would be painted in VF-84 Jolly Rogers markings, but didn’t know for sure if it would be the low viz, or high viz paint scheme, the latter being the most popular.
Well the paint scheme has been confirmed as the high viz paint scheme, specifically the one seen most notably in the movie Final Countdown! The Tomcat will arrive in October, click on the thumbnail to the left to get a hint of how it will look!
UPDATE: JSI is also willing to do custom paint jobs!
i have been talking to jsi and they have confirmed the paint will be jolly rogers final countdown paint scheme. but as an added bonus to anyone who does not want a j.r. scheme they do custom work also. which i am waiting further details on right now.
Hi guys, I'm writing from Rome, Italy, absolutely interested to buy one of these "gattoni" - big cats. Does anybody know how many pieces will be available for each different dealer? I used to buy my almost 50 models via internet SUCCESFULLY from aikensairplanes.
As is clear that a lot of collectors will have to buy one of this legendary aircraft's model I'm just a little bit concerned it will be out of stock in a nick of time, thanks a lot for your attention, best regards to all of you,
Giacomo.
P.S. Have a bandit day and keep on collecting...

you could email jsi and ask them. [email protected]
come on everybody and get together and buy an f-14 right now--right now
try to love one another right now and buy an f-14.
Awesome news! Jolly Rogers FTW!
ftw=free the whales?
for the win
i'd like to be the owner of jsi cause man you know they are gonna make a killing with these planes.
i hope they really will release the cat in october. we all know there can be delays with one eighteen scale companies. but jsi seems so far to have amazed all of us, lets hope they keep it up.
Also the Tomcat has been in development for longer than most of us have thought, judging by the fact that pre-orders for the Kawaii Toys exclusive Black Knights version were up as late as last December, chances are, development of the 1/18 Tomcat started as late as 2007, and as early as 2006.
I will let you guys all know of any changes on the F-14, from my sales rep from JSI
thank you wolfman. jsi and i have been talking even more, right now i am waiting on a quote for their custom service. it sounds like they can do as much or a little custom work as you want. ranging from the a to the d model with different armaments to functioning flaps, any paint scheme, to weathering or no weathering. still no pics though.
CUSTOM LED LIGHTING! they also provide custom lite packing box and displays.
despite all the excitement that jsi is willing to do custom paint jobs, it can actually put a deep hole in your wallet as shipping from china can cost up to $400 usd as far as price on the actual plane i'm still waiting.
well after finally getting a quote from jsi, a custom paint job will run about $1500-2000. so its not for everyone, but if you got the money i say go for it as they provide any paint scheme for the f-14, leds, lantirn and you can even have your name put on the canopy as one of the pilots.
Hi fellows, hope you all are fine, does anyone have news about "our" big-cat?
Thanks 4 your attention, best regards, ciao da Roma,
Giacomo.
