Marvel Universe Update from Comic Con 2009. New Figures At the Hasbro Booth.
SDCC 2009 Hasbro Booth Marvel Universe Update
LUKE M. F. CAGE!!!!!! my collection was missing some bad assedness.
Luke Cage, Black Widow, Bucky, Winter Soldier, Bucky Cap, Ultron, Piledriver, Thunderball, Sunfire, Iceman, Firestar, Jean Grey, Magneto, Mystique... There are sooo many Marvel figures I'll be picking up, it's ridiculous.
Wait, I didn't see Mystique. I can't wait to see what they have at the panel tomorrow.
So much goodness....sooo little time to hunt all of it down.
That modern Thor pleases me to no end. Hasbro is really flexing their muscle with this line, unfortunately it make me want it all the more. The Secret-Wars two-packs are also a must.
now all we need are release dates and second jobs!
EXTREMIS ARMOR IRON MAN FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO far the only modernized Iron Man figure WITH bicep swivel and DOUBLE JOINTED KNEES! Killer sculpt to boot!
Digging the first appearance Cap too, notice the lack of belt pouches therefore BETTER hip articulation!
Mystique and the others haven't been revealed yet. Plus they should be announcing the 2 other figures from the fan poll.
Bucky looks a little bit like a Clone Wars figure, but the rest look awesome.
Black Widow is hot! And I don't think toys are hot! Modern Thor's head is pretty smashed... But his body is awesome. Extremis Iron Man is fantastic... But it's the Stealth Classic that has got me drooling!
And Luke Cage made me lol
I noticed there's the Black Dragon symbol Iron Fist to the right of Jean (our left) with the fist hand and does anyone know the difference between the Silver Surfer in the 3 pack compared to the single carded Silver Surfer in wave 1?
They had the character selection and now it looks like the sculpts are really turned up a notch.
MARVEL is really going all out with the MU line
I thought the new Surfer was going to be more chrome-like, but it looks to be more washed with black in the details. There is chrome on the packaging though. So these three pks are like 22-23 bucks right?
Man, I want all of them. Even the so-so Luck Cage. I've been wanting a modern Luke Cage since I was collecting Legends. They finally give us one, but kind of drop the ball with him. I hate the sunglasses on him and what's up with the bell bottoms? He is really one the main character in the Marvel universe right now and deserves a better looking figure.
Oh, and the Black Widow face sculpt is pretty freekin hot.
Saints Alive!!! ALL of these look top-notch. Marvel is taking command of the 3 3/4 inch market and looking good in 2010. The Thor and Hawkeye look especially solid. I'm new to the thread so I wonder, which figure/series do you think will have the most collectability on 2010? I'm down with all of them, just want to hear what other people think?
PS- time to add a new shelf to my collector's tower...
So does anyone know what the seven figures of the "fan's choice wave" are going to be?
Marvel Universe Fans' Choice
So everything that is new that we learned from SDCC is 2010? Are there really no more single carded figures MU's past wave 5 till after Christmas? That surprises me since they seem to have cranked out 50 figures from March to August. So from August till 2010 its just about the multi-packs. Wow.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to the break. It will give me a chance to catch up and save up for all the epicness that is next year.
I get that, the desire for a wallet break. But from a retail perspective, I expected more in Fall '09 to get people to go look at the pegs during shopping season. I suppose the comic packs can be hung next to the singles.
Also, when is that Iron Fist variant (you know, the one with the fist) supposed to be out? I passed up on him at comic con because it was the one with both hands open.
