Possible 1st Look At Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles Skrull

Posted on June 6, 2009 at 10:18 am by Shin Densetsu under Marvel Toy News

Marvel has revealed an image of what might be the Skrull from the Gigantic Battles subline of Marvel Universe. Gigantic Battles sets are exclusive to Walmart, and will ship later this fall. This Skrull is to be released with the new Captain America, formerly known as Bucky and Winter Soldier. As with the Goliath figure that comes with Iron Man, it seems like the Skrull also uses an Icons body.

Did you guys see the pics with Nick Fury? Could the last pic be the Gigantic Battles Skrull?

    Looks like it.

Looks like a Marvel Legends figure to me

Off and on I'm worried that's more or less how tall the figures are.

The Giant Man mold is reportedly 14-15 inches high, how tall is BAF one? What does this mean for galactus and the Sentinel? Or the giant skrull? Does hulkbuster armor count as a Giant battle pack worthy item?

Though to be honest I'm mostly worried on the sentinel interpretation. The BAF one is a hard one to top, and at the least it needs to look like a misc armada type if it can't be as imposing.

It looks like they are using 12" Icons for Goliath and Giant Skrull.

    Goliath = Cyclops (Marvel Icons)

Giant Skrull = Magneto (Marvel Icons)

Well this alleviates me some, but still has me worried bout the sentinel.

Ah well, I'll still end up getting at least one of each. A slightly shorter Giantman might be nice anyway for this scale.

BAF sentinel here I come anyway. xD

I hope we see a Classic Sentinel and a Marvel Universe version of Astonising X Men Wolverine. After having the MU and XMO Wolverine figures for a while, I prefer the MU far more. Sure Wolverine in MU is taller, but I don't care, the figure quality is higher.

So the skrull is icons Magneto. (no cape and shoulder piece, new head.)
Giant Man is Icons Cyclops. (new head?)
Galactus from icons thor or colossus?
Sentinel from Icons Ironman? (Battle damage removable face?) Or Icons Doctor Doom (classic esque).

At least that's the vibe I'm getting right now. Galactus would need more than a new head.

And if I'm right about the sentinel, that could be interesting. Not as imposing as I'd like, but it's an intrigueing prospect nonetheless. I could see having a legion of those for every 1 baf sentinel, all post apocalyptic like.

For height reference. Compared to BAF apocalypse at least.

Another interesting idea though, what if the first two are icon's bodies, to make way for original molds or something slightly larger of the other 2? Or is that just wishful thinking?

That's assuming also that Hasbro is Limited to wave 4+ from when they took over.

Also, I second the astonishing outfit for him, but I bet it'll be tiger stripe classic.
Wow they could even do a whole retro wolvie one later if they wanted with crazy 70s hulk, and sasquatch gone white wendigo. >.> Easy cross sell. xD

As a big fan of that comic and all three characters I gotta say, I'd buy that in a New York minute

It's the only version of his tiger stripe I like, The smaller winged mask.

The bigger winged mask yellow looks better with the blue accents his astonishing has.

Could someone do a digi of the icons Ironman in sentinel colors?

If that is indeed what they'll use. I'm excited to see it.
If it's not. Well at least we'll get the excitement going either way. xD
