The vehicles and playsets for this movie are really cool. The figures...Not so much.
I like the redesigned Enterprise. Looks like Playmates is taking ques from Art Asylum, with their articulated style stand and sfx/movie dialogue.
The Enterprise does look pretty damn awesome. It's just it looks so awesome, it looks more futuristic than the Enterprises in the future, so is minorly aggravating. But still, awesome.
Looks like that Nero figure is bound for the UK. It has a Vivid sticker on the back of the card, and Vivid is Playmates UK distributor.
I'm really looking forward to the 3-3/4" line and cannot wait 'til they start popping up here in the US.
I wonder how accurate that 4/19 date is that's floating about the intertubes?
Not a big fan of the redesigned Enterprise. The nacelles are too large and close together. As a whole, it's too bubbley and looks too much like a toy. In a sense, it's overdesigned.
I would love to see new 1:18 Original Series figures. I'm not into this movie stuff. And t-crotches really have to be retired. I think all toylines should be leaving those behind.
i really dig that nero and ambassador spock 3 3/4 inchers.
The playsets and vehicles look cool, I hope we get a Klingon bird of prey.
Now the figures...they have a chance at being just as appealing as the 5" figures that Playmates made before, these new figures have more articulation and are at an industry standard scale that is more popular this year than in past years(3-3/4").
However they are lacking to me, I think integration with the playsets is what will save this line.
