From the March edition of Hobby Japan comes exciting news: High-end toy manufacturer Fewture will be re-issuing the phenomenally designed (and phenomenally expensive) EX Gokin Getter series. These figures will have new paint variations, and feature additional weapons that didn’t come with the original releases, such as the massive Getter Tomahawk blade.
The Getter Renewal editions are slated for release in June of 2009, with an MSRP of 24,800 yen.
They really did it; everyone said they wouldn't, but the call of money is too great for any company to ignore, I would imagine. There's probably just as many people cursing this reissue as there are people praising it; those of us who forked over bu coup bucks for the originals are slightly screwed, but whatever. It's cool that these phenominal pieces will be available for everyone again.

Fewture has official photos up of the reissues:

It looks like the differences are fairly minor; yellow paint instead of the slightly orange, green arms on Getter 3, and instead of the "Mind" "Body" "Soul" Kanji on the spine discs, it simply says "1" "2" and "3".
Dear god it looks so awesome but dear god the price !
They're definitely nice figures, but yeah. The expense factor is killer. I really wonder what the reissues will do to the price of the original versions, though.
Even they will drop the price, it won't be significant enough to see the difference.
