Yamato is going make a VF-1 Valkyrie toy from the SDF Macross TV series that has never been made before! One of the other releases planned for this year is the 1/60 scale VF-1A TV Max Type. The VF-1A TV Max Type was the valkyrie that ace pilot Max Jenius flew when he was first assigned to the Vermillion Team, rescued Hikaru, Kakizaki & Misa onboard a Zentraedi ship, and defeated Milia in their epic duel. This particular design lacks the flashiness of his TV VF-1J, but it is more combat relevant. The closest thing we ever got to a toy of the VF-1A TV Max Type was a mockup shown in an ad for the old Takatoku 1/55 toyline, and it sadly never materialized. Finally, after 27 years, we will get a VF-1A TV Max Type toy.
Yamato is going to make a toy off of a design that barely gets any love, and is one that I've been personally anticipating! Click here to check out the 1/60 VF-1A TV Max Type!
Bout damn time!! Next stop: TV kakizaki? (please oh please)
I am so stoked that Yamato is making this valkyrie! TV Max type WINS. Memorable scenes. Iconic poses. Everyone's jaws dropped when Max first showed off his skills during his first episode. What did he fly? TV Max type. I am glad that the toy companies are no longer neglecting this design. I hope the shoulder hinges are addressed by the time this toy hits stores.
You know what I always thought would be really cool? Given that Kaki was assigned green as his color in DYRL, a 'retcon' kakizaki TV green VF-1A. Same pattern as TV max and normal kaki, but green. So basically a tiny bit different from the alaska guard.
Oh man....I'm probably going to pre-order the 1A Max type. That, the Hikaru 1J, and the 1D are the ones I want.
And cue the TV Max VF-1J in five ... four ...
The link doesn't work. Man if this is true then I'm gonna be a little pissed off. I dropped a bunch of money on the exclusive 1/48 Max TV 1A from macross chronicles. If I had known about this then I would passed on the chronicles one. Oh well.
Oh and I bought a custom TV 1/48 kakizaki too.
