Bandai Announces Macross 7 Model Kit Reissues

Posted on January 13, 2009 at 12:50 pm by Shin Densetsu under Macross Model Kit News

Bandai will be reissuing various Macross 7 1/100 & 1/144 scale model kits. More kits from other Macross series may also be reissued. The Macross 7 kits were originally sold between 1994-95, and have been reissued every few years. Some of these releases include the 1/100 scale VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie, VF-19S Excalibur Blazer Valkrie from Emerald Force, as well as 1/144 scale versions of the main characters and Sound Force. Look for these models later during the year, and prepare for more Macross products as anticipation for the Macross Frontier movie heats up!

I hope upon hope that the only reason they are reissuing these is because they are thinking about creating new M7 toys and are trying to gauge current interest in M7.
I love my old chunky VF-17, but I'd love to see an updated version.

I got an old Blazer valk kit back in the day after watching Macross Plus because it was the closest thing I could get to a YF-19. I have to say, as a transforming model, it ... uh... well, it really sucks. It's nice of them to reissue them, but really I'd much rather see them do proper DX VF-19 and VF-17s . Hell, even VF100 1/100 scale versions would be cool, although they'd probably have just as much parts swapping as the models

The 1/100 kits are beautiful, I love the anime accurate battroid modes, and the sleek, accurate fighter modes, but since they are models, they are of course fragile, yet when I was in 7th grade, I didn't care! Taking it to school in my bookbag was NOT a good idea! Of course it is broken now, so I will settle for the VF100s versions, hopefully there are VF100s versions made, but preferably, all new 1/60 DX's!

Now you too can save the universe with the power of cheesy j-rock.

It's always been MY dream, I don't know about anyone else.

If the 1/100 kits are one thing, it's very good looking (at least, in battroid mode, if you paint 'em) and anime accurate in proportions. The joints I remember just being atrocious, though . I remember finding mine in a closet a year or so ago, and the wings just dangled limply from the body, unable to support their own weight anymore in fighter mode.

... come on, Bandai... give us a DX VF-171, then throw us all for a loop and redo the Macross 7 valks. I'm sure there's a market for them ... somewhere. Maybe. I mean, someone would buy a few, I'm sure.

This is fantastic news. I was hoping for a reissue of the VF-19S. The price for this kit on Ebay is outrageous.
