Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Optimus Prime REVEALED!

Posted on January 3, 2009 at 3:21 pm by Shin Densetsu under Transformers Toy News

We have our first, small glimpse at the all new Leader size class Optimus Prime figure from the upcoming Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen movie toyline! Not only is this figure much more accurate than the Leader Optimus Prime figure from the 2007 movie toyline, it will also feature:

–double Snap Out Energy Swords

-Electronic Speech

-Light Up Eyes and Chest

-Engine Revving and Truck Racing Sounds

-Automatic Conversion Sounds

-Mech Alive gimmick(might be similar to automorphing)

*UPDATE: A FULL IMAGE OF THE ROBOT/ALT MODES HAS BEEN ADDED!*

And here I am, thinking I would be able to pass on Op this time around. Now I can't wait to see more pics.

I'm quite curious on how the whole combiner aspect is pulled off. The legends class pics gave us some indication, but I wan't to see the whole thing before I justify buying another Leader Movie Op.

I'll probably still get Jetfire, only because he's a SR-71. Those, along with the F-14, F-15 and A-10 are my favorite planes.

    The Double Swords look badass.

Holy crap he looks badass. Which is surprising given the amount of electronics in him.

    Ninja Prime!

Loving the tonfa look. I still want to see pics of Jetfire and combining gimmick, though. I also think it's interesting that his cab colors have changed and the flames are less pronounced, even though they once said the flame deco was the "only way" they could have a realistic red and blue color scheme on a big rig. Of course, that was complete bunk in my eyes, especially since there is a rig I've seen around here multiple times with a red/blue color scheme similar to Prime without any flames. I've even seen one in purple and black (Motormaster, is that you?).

That's not why he hasflames. Mike Bay said teh reason he gave Prime flames was that in robot more it looked more visually dynamic, and he liked how on his chest it looked kinda like ribs.

The Premium version is one of my favorites, and I won't sell it when this one comes out, I will buy the new one and keep both. Both are great as indicators of how far Hasbro has gone in just a few years. While I won't know for sure how well this stacks up to Premium Prime with regards to durability/stability/quality, this already outdoes Premium Prime in accuracy alone, it also manages to have a more realistic truck mode, and more balanced robot mode. Excellent work Hasbro! Now...lets hope they do the same for.......

Well, like I said at one time that seemed to be the going excuse, from what I heard. Of course, I stopped posting in most of the movie forums shortly afterward, so I'm not surprised that I missed the update.

Even with what you've said though, it still seems after-the-fact reasoning to me. I would've prefered if he had just said, "I like flames, flames are cool," rather than try to have some excuse/reason for it.

And don't get me wrong, I don't mind the flame deco. Like I said, I just wish he had come right out and said he did it because he liked the look, nothing more.

Either way, I like this version a lot more.

    You're just waiting for a Nemesis/Scourge repaint, aren't you?

Man, I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE how movie prime might be a Laser Rod Prime homage. LASER ROD PRIME WINS! One of the reasons I warmed up so much to the movie Prime design from TF1, especially the Premium. Sword+Prime=TOTAL WIN. I hope this toy also has a gun that we have not seen yet, I dig the automorphing gun on the 1st toy.

I love the original Movie Prime toy and I don't see that changing; this version looks visually different enough (while still, coolly enough, looking very much the same in vehicle mode) in robot mode to make a neat pair on my display shelf. The only problem now is that there's no more ROOM on my Optimus display shelf for any more figs :P

At least I have some time to work on getting a bigger shelf, eheh.

If this one is just as stable, just as durable, and has ratchets all over the place I think it will be a better toy than the Premium Prime from the 2007 movie. I wonder which other versions we will see. I the last movie we had Prime in both voyager and Leader sizeclasses. I think a new voyager mold would be cool too.

What I'm really crossing my fingers for is a leader class Starscream. THAT will be some wonderment and toy porn for me.

SAME HERE! I don't care if Skywarp, Ramjet, and whomever other seeker they make uses the 2007 movie mold, Starscream deserves a larger, all new one!.
