Macross F DX 1/60 VF-25S Ozma Lee Custom Out Of Box Images!

Posted on December 26, 2008 at 10:02 pm by Shin Densetsu under Macross Toy News

We now have a great look at the DX 1/60 scale VF-25S Ozma Lee Custom toy, out of box! This toy was recently released by Tamashii(Bandai)! Highly anticipated, and already sold out at some stores in Japan, this toy is Bandai’s 2nd entry in their Macross F DX 1/60 toyline. With fully painted details and markings, gloss coating, high durability, sturdy construction, and even styrofoam interior packaging, this toy has the high quality that we have come to expect from Bandai.

Not too far behind Alto's VF-25, Bandai's Macross Frontier DX 1/60 VF-25S Ozma type will be released in next month! The Skull Leader in Macross F, Ozma Lee flies a VF-25S in colors reminiscent of Roy Focker's VF-1S Skull One from the original Macross series. Instead of a regular skull, Ozma's VF-25S has a huge bull's skull w/dagger painted on top of the spine in fighter mode. A menacing sight, and quite fitting for a current Skull Leader. Usually seen with heavy armor, could a set of heavy armor be far behind?

That's actually the box for the 1/72 model kit, it was released not too long ago.

I want to preorder this thing immediately, however I am holding back, waiting to see if heavy armor will eventually be made, and whether it will be bundled or not. I really wish I knew! If it will be made, and is available separately, I will order this release, but if it is a bundle only, I will wait for the bundle. I really hope the giant skull is painted on too. It wouldn't hurt if Bandai included smaller versions of the skull to place on the tailfins, instead of the regular SMS logo.

The Skull Leader side of me is loving this. If this baby gets some armour, man, that would be hard to resist!

Have you seen it armored up yet? It is compatible with super and heavy armor, the super armor was rarely seen on this, but the heavy armor was seen on it most of the time. For the first valk able to transform with heavy armor, the look is very impressive, reminiscent of something you would find in a shooter game, like gradius on steroids. A good introduction to this armor is in episode 7.

The armor shown there is the super armor, Ozma's VF-25S only has it on during an early episode, and that was about it, he rarely uses it. Now the heavy armor...that thing is pure greatness all around. I hope Bandai decides to make a toy of it.

The head sculpt looks better in these shots, the design for the 25S head is just so menacing up close.

Is it me or does the Ozma head look a wee bit like the head on the Type Zero (AV-0 Peacemaker) labor from the Patlabor movie?
