Not sure if I CAN do this or not, but Marvel has updated the news on the future waves with pics...

I apologize if I stepped on toes, but hope that people can take a look at these, or that you have a better link.

We all definitely appreciate it. I'm not one for Marvel toys, but both the Iron Man and Captain America have me intrigued. If they throw in a Black Panther, I might have to get it.

    Panther is in wave 1!

Fury Files Black Panther Marvel Classics 2009

These will need a little 'tweaking' but for the most part they are homeruns!

And the top of the page states these are 12 inchers, but they are actually 1:18 or approximate about 3.75 or 4 depending on character.

Marvel is going to make a killing on these and the other lines in this scale in 2009.

They look ok, but why go to this scale? They are too small! I prefer the DC Direct/Marvel Legends scale.

    Great news!

I don't know what I'm more excited about, new TFA and Joe toys coming up or this line.

Well, one reason is because of the popularity of G.I. Joe and Star Wars, both of which are at the 3.75" scale.

It's an industry standard these days. Even wrestling figures are now available in that format. Not to mention that they are cheaper to produce at that scale, which also makes any vehicles or playsets that much easier to produce as well.

But I wouldn't fret too much. I don't think the 6" scale will be going away any time soon. Both scales have co-mingled for years now, but you have to admit, Hasbro's got the lock on 3.75" figures.

I'll be skipping the Hulks, aside from possible customizing use, as I like the ML-sized Hulk with my puny humans. Makes 'em look punier.

There's a lot I'm not liking about the Fist/Johnny body; it's just too gangly and emaciated. It'd be a good body for Beak, tho.

I'll skip this Goblin, but get the inevitable HobGoblin repaint, and stick with my Showdown Goblin. This one looks to be just as good, but the Showdown one has richer colors and not so bugged-out eyes.

The rest of them, tho; are gonna get got like lip sores at Paris Hilton's birthday party! That Cap RAWKS.

    Why not go this scale?
I think the ML/DCUC are too big mostly because I have no space for them.
Bring on the vehicles & playsets!

Don't forget the biggest reason to go to this scale: they'll rake in the cash like a combination Pizza Hut/headshop across the street from a Phish concert.

    /I'm probably a few years late for a Phish reference, aren't I?

you? late? more like too old!

stop reading the notes that you take from students.... perv!

I know I would LUV to get some vehicles in this scale....
    Cap's bike
    Fantasicar
    Avernger hover bikes
and the list goes on and on... but make sure to steal some Joes designs to make SHIELD vehicles

I like the smaller scale too. The 3.75 size is perfect for an action figure. Anything bigger, I find is too cumbersome and takes up too much space overall. when you have figures as big as 6" or more, it's tougher to get good playsets and vehicles for them.

Plus, with oil prices heading where they are (it's underpriced right now, but the price will baloon over time again), and economies being as fragile as they are, I think the 3.75 size will become the standard once again for the foreseable future.
