Transformers Universe Ratchet Confirmed

Posted on November 24, 2008 at 9:15 pm by Shin Densetsu under Transformers Toy News

BBTS has posted their pre-order listing of Transformers Universe Wave 6, which includes Smokescreen, Dinobot, Hot Shot, and Ratchet! Fans of the IDW comic are one step closer to completing their Autobot cast. Will the Universe version of Ratchet have the homages to the G1 Marvel comic that the Henkei version(shown in the images) has?

BBTS has just put up a pre-order listing for Wave 6, which includes Ratchet!

Cool, guess I'm gonna be picking one of these up.

So, the pic we've seen of Ratchet is confirmed to be the Henkei version? Or is that just hearsay? Because that figure just looks like something Hasbro would do. It looks cheap.

I'll be getting hot Shot for sure, and I'll pick up Ratchet, it'll save me a repaint!

That image of a Universe/Henkei Ratchet is not yet confirmed to be either.

The pics that I attached are of the Henkei prototype, and the colored shots. The colored one is what you will be seeing for Henkei, as for the Classics/Universe version, I'm not sure, which is why I posted the question at the end of the news post. I hope some of the aspects of the Henkei version like the G1 homaged license plate, make it to the Universe version.

I'm glad to hear he is coming.

Honestly, I stick to the Classics myself, for money reasons, so, I will make do.

Since Universe Ratchet is now confirmed, I guess I can cancel my preorder for the Henkei version and just wait a few more months. It'll save me some extra cash. Should be interesting to see if there are any substantial differences between the versions.

Same. IMO the Henkei figures that are better are only marginally so anyway, not enough to warrant the higher prices. If I want to change any of the decos in any way I can usually do it easily on the cheap with a Hasbro release!

Well, it was kind of expected, but it's still nice to have some sort of confirmation. I will gladly pick it up at retail. Hopefully, they are able to fix the neck issue.

This is most excellent news. Ratchet is on my list to buy for sure.

I'm not that surprised. I mean, if we got Ironhide, we'd have to get Ratchet.

Cool, another choice as far as paint apps. Looking forward to what the Universe version looks like.

Since I'm already getting the Henkei version,at that price I'll wait for this version to show up in stores. Same with Hotshot, BBTS' price is just too greedy for my liking.

I think it is supposed to mean "help please", it's on an old Marvel cover with a frightened Ratchet.

Ah, yes. I remember that one. It was when he was meshed with Megatron, right?

Yeah, that's the issue. It was right after a space bridge explosion. Actually, the license plate says "H3L PU2". The "2" is supposed to be a backward "S", like the sign on the comic.

Quite awesome, indeed. That's one thing that has me so enamored with this line, as it throws in all these little nods that people outside the fandom would never catch but turn us into giddy school girls.
