Due on January 1st 2009 is the long awaited Yamato Macross 1/60 VF-1D Valkyrie. This is the first perfect transformation toy of the VF-1D, and also the first Valkyrie that Hikaru flew in the Macross series, appearing in the first episode. This will include figures of both Hikaru Ichijou & Lynn Minmay. The scenes were Roy Focker rescues Hikaru and Minmay by detaching the fuselage/cockpit section of the VF-1D and mounts it under the arm of his VF-1S can be recreated, due to the detachable fuselage/cockpit section feature. Thus far, the new 1/60 VF-1 toys are the only VF-1 toys able to do that.

This is also the very first time any valkyrie toy has been able to pull this off.
