Next up in our look at items that released early at NYCC from Bluefin and Tamashii Nations is the S.H. Figuarts Star Lord and Explosion set. This is another S.H. Figuarts release pairing a figure with a Tamashii Nations accessory piece. The explosion set consists of 3 exploding pieces in neon pink, playing off the funky tones seen on GotG. Star Lord dropped in Japan solo a while back, but the US version won’t be hitting state side for a bit. We’ve done up over 45 HD images so read on to check it and some additional thoughts out!

Tamashii Nations Marvel S.H. Figuarts release here in the States with added accessories. Iron Man has come with his Hall of Armor pieces, Dr. Strange came with his Flame Effects, and Spider-Man is coming with a modular wall piece. Today’s shoot looks at Spidey from Homecoming, the tech suit version. There is a home-made suit coming, also with a wall, soon. Spiderman features a full range of articulation, multiple eyes, tons of extra hands, a backpack, cellphone, and multiple webs. The webbing on the suit is slightly raised and there is texture throughout. The wall can be broken down and re-configured into a corner piece or straight front-on wall, depending on your needs. Each wall piece has multiple pop-out bricks that reveal a port for standard Tamashii stands to be inserted. It comes with one that has a u-bracket for resting Spidey in those swinging poses. All in all it’s a great set, read on to check some additional thoughts and 60 HD pics!
Today we are taking a look at the North American release of S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark 2, which comes with the Hall of Armor piece. Both are packaged together and will be available at US comic shops and retailers without the normal import mark up. Mark 2 came out extremely nice, with a shiny metallic paint rather than full chroming that would flake easily. It captures the look of the suit from the movie while allowing for posing and movement. This is their second release after Mark 6, which we looked at here. Both come with the light up Hall of Armor, the same exact piece which can be connected and expanded as the line progresses. We’ve run him through a set so read on to check out over 35 HD images of Iron Man Mark 2!
Tamashii Nations are releasing their S.H. Figuarts Marvel Cinematic Universe line in the States with additional large accessories to differentiate themselves from similar figures from other companies. The first was Iron Man Mark VI with his Hall of Armor (of which there are more coming) and today’s Dr. Strange with Burning Flames is next.
Dr. Strange is a really solid figure, nailing the sculpt and paint. The cape is hard plastic like the figure with articulation so no soft-goods here. It’s a bit angular due to the articulation joints, but overall executed well. The head sculpts are sharp with laser printing for the paint. The resting face is perfect, but emotive face is a bit off IMO. And my personal copy had some cross eyes. As with all laser printed faces, if you zoom in super close you can see the dots and it’s a bit weird, but from any normal distance it looks natural.
Articulation overall is good with standard S.H. Figuarts construction which by default is above average. There are plenty of extra hands for all his magical moves. As for the accessories, he comes with 2 pairs of energy effects for the hands that can be attached to a plug in a set of hands, or, inserted between the hand and forearm. The flame effects have been released before but have a slightly different paint deco closer to actual flames.
As for where this figure+accessories line is going – after Dr. Strange, expect Star Lord with explosion pieces, Iron Man Mk II & V with Hall of Armor pieces and Spider-Man Homecoming home-made suit and regular suit with wall pieces.

Tamashii Nations along with Bluefin are finally releasing Marvel S.H. Figuarts in the United States. In order to differentiate themselves from existing license holders (we assume), each piece will be coming with larger extras, environment pieces and the like. The first of these is the Iron Man 2 Mark 6 suit with a Hall of Armor display. This was originally a Tamashii Web exclusive in Japan, and the figure itself has been significantly redone since it’s first release (see here). It will be dropping soon in the States at roughly 120 USD. We’ve got our copy in hand so read on to check out over 60 HD images and some quick thoughts!
Way back in May of 2015 Bandai Tamashii Nations announced they’d be doing a S.H. Figuarts Hulkbuster to work with their 6 inch scale Age of Ultron figures. The larger scale ones were out of my budget but I NEEDED a metal painted version of this beast on my shelf,so I jumped right in. Fast forward 9 months later and the Japanese web exclusive version of the Iron Man Mark XLIV Hulkbuster is now in hand! We’ve done up over 100 shots of him in action, showing off what he can do after the break including an all out brawl with S.H. Figuarts Hulk! Read on to check it all out!
