In Predator Series 17, NECA gives fans three new figures based on the Alien vs Predator franchise. Earlier this week, we took a look at the Alien vs Predator video Game Serpent Hunter Predator. Today we have a detailed look at the Alien vs Predator – Youngblood Predator. This Yautja is the first to successfully slay the Alien Xenomorph and becomes the trainer for those entering the Xenomorph battle trials. The massive figure includes a sword, a removable plasmacaster shoulder cannon, removable gauntlet blades and a spear complete with a Xenomorph head impaled on it. In celebration of the Alien franchise, April 26th has been deemed Alien Day! The date was chosen to honor LV-426, the planetoid that the Nostromo crew, and years later the Colonial Marines, would encounter the Xenomorph species. NECA is celebrating the day as well, by releasing a special edition figure
that will be available via Toysrus.com.

For this wave, I’m going to take a look at each one individually, starting with the Serpent Hunter Predator. This figure comes from the 2010 Alien vs Predator video game. Also known as the Alien Head Predator, the character was available only as a pre-order bonus for the multiplayer mode in the game. The Gremlins line from NECA has turned into a slow drip over the last few years. NECA constantly look for the right chance to unleash a highly sought after figure from the great line up of characters from the films. Recent releases such as the Bat Gremlin have become instant fan favorites. After releasing some of the highly anticipated Gremlins and Mogwai from both films, fans are getting a chance to own the very first Gremlins figure in the Ultimate Series. Loot Crate and NECA surprised their customers with two exclusive figures in the last Loot Crate DX box. Earlier this week, we took a look at the Predator 30th Anniversary – Jungle Demon Predator, which was a timed exclusive for Loot Crate. Fans need not worry on that one, as there will be a standard retail release for it this Summer. the second figure in the box looks to be a genuine exclusive that won’t hit retail. The Reactor Glow Godzilla is a repaint of their Burning Godzilla, featuring glow-in-the-dark green in place of the burning paint effects.

Fans of NECA products who ordered this months Loot Crate DX box got a major surprise. There were two exclusive figures inside the box. The Jungle Demon Predator is a repaint of the upcoming Ultimate Jungle Hunter Predator, and is being released for the Predator 30th Anniversary this Summer. The figure is cast in clear plastic, with a partially painted jungle deco and glowing yellow eyes. The figure commemorates the first time the Predator is spotted by Mac. The newest NECA 1/4 Scale Figure from the Tim Burton era Batman films is now available in stores and online! After the release of the original 1/4 scale Penguin figure from Batman Returns, fans had immediately began requesting a Catwoman figure to go alongside that excellent Penguin and their 1989 Batman. It didn’t take long, and NECA answered that call with this all new Catwoman figure. this new release is based on Michelle Pfeiffer’s iconic portrayal as Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in the 1992 film Batman Returns. The figure stands over 17″ tall, with over 30 points of articulation and movie themed accessories.

For the 30th anniversary of Aliens, NECA has been releasing and re-releasing an assortment of figures to commemorate the iconic film. While we’re now onto the 31st year since the release of the film, a few newer items are still making their ways to stores. Among them is the Aliens Hicks and Hudson Colonial Marines 2-Pack. This set features re-released versions of the Hicks and Hudson figures with updated paint apps, new skin colored plastic and swappable head sculpts.

For the past few waves of Predator figures, NECA has been really packing the releases with a wide assortment of accessories. When the Alien vs Predator wave hit with Predator Series 15, fans were treated to all new body sculpts that greatly enhanced the sculpts and articulation. Almost immediately, fans began clamoring for some of the earlier Predator releases to get the new articulation seen with Series 15. Thankfully, those requests were met with the exciting announcements of Ultimate Figures based on the classic Jungle Hunter Predator and the City Hunter Predator.
