play arts kai vader

Looks like Square Enix will be doing Star Wars the same way they are doing DC – crazy off the wall “variant” versions. Instead of trying to mimic the look directly, they will apply their unique styling to the 9-11 inch Play Arts Kai action figures for Star Wars characters. Lead Designer Hidemi Matsuzuka dropped this pic recently and put all the whispers to rest, so check out Play Arts Kai Variant Darth Vader after the break!

Play Arts Kai MGS Kid Mantis

In the GDC 2013 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, we got a look at a child version of, supposedly, Psycho Mantis. I don’t think Konami or Hideo Kojima ever confirmed that it was indeed a child Mantis (I could be wrong, as I don’t follow the series too closely). However, Hideo Kojima has posted a photo of a Play Arts Kai figure depicting this “Kid Mantis“. The image is an unpainted prototype and no other info was revealed.
