Wave 2 of Star Wars Black Series The Last Jedi figures are making their way out in greater numbers and today we begin our look at them with shots of Finn in First Order Officer Disguise, Leia in her General outfit from The Force Awakens, and Poe Dameron in his TLJ Captain look. All of them have pretty good likenesses for Black Series, and Poe’s beard is handled way better than the first go around. The star of the show is Finn in his Officer outfit, which went from an “eh” to a “yeah baby” after that trailer dropped. Read on to check out over 40 shots courtesy of Dorkside Toys!

The second Black Series vehicle to drop during Star Wars The Last Jedi toy releases is the retail edition of Luke Skywalker and his X-34 Landspeeder. This was Luke’s ride while on Tatooine before going off planet in A New Hope. The figure and vehicle were released at San Diego Comic Con 2017 as an exclusive, which we did an in depth gallery for here. This is the same thing, with some changes, both major an minor, to the figure and vehicle. Read on to check out what’s different and see over 40 HD images courtesy of Dorkside Toys!
The second Star Wars Black Series Centerpiece features Luke Skywalker on Hoth, emerging from a downed At-At foot in the heat of battle, lightsaber drawn. It features a static Luke Skywalker statue, an At-At foot with moving “toes”, an explosion piece with LED flickering lights, and two snowy floor bases that you can use to position 6 Inch Black Series figures around. It’s a perfect fit for the previously released At-At pilot and Snowtrooper figures to work with. And as with the first Centerpiece, you can remove the statue and swap in a pilot Luke figure instead. We’ve done up 30+ images to show of what can be done courtesy of Dorkside Toys after the break!
One of the many retailer exclusives announced for Black Series Star Wars The Last Jedi was the Guardians of Evil 4 pack. This shows the evolution of the Royal Guards through the different eras. It includes the Senate Guard in blue from the Prequels, the Imperial Royal Guard in red from the OT, the Emperor’s Shadow Guard in black from Legends, and finally the Elite Praetorian Guard in red from The Last Jedi. All 4 come window boxed in the current black and red packaging style. It’s exclusive to Gamestop in the US. We have our copy in hand and have done up a set showing them off. Star Wars Black Series vehicles are back in the mix with 02 Luke and his X-34 Speeder and 03 Rey and her Speeder. They join the 01 Tie Fighter from a couple years ago. These are much more reasonable for collectors without warehouse level display space though. Today we are taking a look at Rey and her Speeder from The Force Awakens. The set comes with Rey in scavenger gear, including a removable face wrap. The vehicle has netting, a chunk o junk to slap on the side to recreate a successful run, moving pedals and joysticks for steering, a display stand so it can hover, and multiple panels that open to reveal the inner workings of the ride. Overall it’s a really well done piece. Read on to check out some additional thoughts and over 60 HD images courtesy of Dorkside Toys!
Hasbro unveiled a new type of collectible to the Black Series line up at Toy Fair 2017 called Centerpiece. These are static mini dioramas from epic moments in Star Wars history. They come with a statue of a character and have light up electronics. They are in scale with the 6 inch Black Series figures, and are intended to work with them. They even have pegs and peg holes all over the base for you to pose out additional Black Series 6 figures.
The first one is Darth Vader busting through the door of the Tantive IV (Leia’s ship at the beginning of A New Hope). It features an explosion on the door frame which lights up along with the rim of the door itself. It’s intended to work with classic Stormtroopers. It is generic enough that you can remix it into any other Vader + Squad entering anyplace of your choice though. Star Wars Black Series The Last Jedi Wave 1 consisted of 2 new figures (Kylo Ren & Hera Syndulla), and 5 figures that were previously released in other forms (Ep 4 Vader x2, Stormtrooper, TLJ Luke, TLJ Rey, Thrawn).
