Four Horsemen Studios announce the return of Power Lords – Little Falls, NJ (July 5, 2017)
Four Horsemen Studios is happy to once again announce the return of Power Lords to your action figure collections! After an extended hiatus we have been granted an extension of the Power Lords license so that we may continue to recreate the revolutionary designs created for the original action figure line. Our goal with this extension is to not only complete the original lineup of 4″ scaled Power Lords characters, but also to delve into the amazing concept characters that were to be part of the proposed third wave, and beyond.
Prototypes from our new wave of figures will be on display at San Diego Comic Con (July 19-23) at booth # 3345, along with details on our massive relaunch sale coming later this year. For more information and upcoming announcements and reveals please keep your eyes on SourceHorsemen.com and PowerLordsreturn.com.
About Four Horsemen
After a groundbreaking run designing and sculpting over 100 figures for Mcfarlane Toys between 1993 and 1999, the future members of Four Horsemen Studios left to form their own toy design firm.
In September of 1999, Four Horsemen Studios was born. For over 18 years, the studio has been designing and producing some of the finest action figures and collectibles in the toy industry. Through an unprecedented partnership with the world’s largest toy company, Mattel, the studio has created hundreds of award winning figures for lines as varied as Masters of the Universe, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, DC Universe Classics, and Thundercats to name a few.
In 2005, Four Horsemen Studios began creating their own properties and designing and manufacturing the toys to support them. The studio has since developed several fan favorite properties including: Seventh Kingdom, Gothitropolis, Magma Corps, Symbiotech, and the massive fan favorite Mythic Legions. These properties have yielded numerous figures that have amassed an incredibly loyal and passionate fan base across the globe.
With plans for new and exciting projects for years to come, there is no doubt that fantastic things are in store for Four Horsemen fans!
About Power Lords
Power Lords, The Extra-Terrestrial Warriors is a toy line from the early 80’s that just might be one of the most originally designed action figure lines of all time.
The appeal of the Power Lords can be traced back to its origins in 1982 when famed toy creators Ned Strongin and Len Mayem contacted legendary sci-fi and fantasy artist Wayne Douglas Barlowe and hired him to help create a toy line. Barlowe’s unique and sometime’s bizarre interpretations of alien life were some of the most memorable designs of the era.
The impressive original action figure line spanned 2 waves that included 10 figures as well as multiple creatures, vehicles and playsets. The line was reintroduced by Four Horsemen Studios as a 4” scale line in 2013.
Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats – HOOOOOO! Lion-O is in the building folks! After a long wait from SDCC 2015 where Mattel and the Four Horsemen revealed they’d obtained the Thundercats license – Thundercats Classic Lion-O is finally here. He is in scale and works with Masters of the Universe Classics figures, so if the line continues past this first wave you will finally be able to have a cross-universe battle between Eternia and 3rd Earth. We’ve done up 65+ pics of him after the break, read on to check the pics and see some quick thoughts.
Earlier this week, we shared news that MattyCollector would be shutting down and that Masters of the Universe was going to Super 7. At the time, details were sketchy on what that actually meant, but we now have an official update. H. Eric Mayse of Four Horsemen has posted an update on their his Facebook Page. Word had been making the rounds that Super 7 and Four Horsemen will continue to bring fans Masters of the Universe Classics figures, and that is officially confirmed! The fate of Thundercats, is still a little tricky. Here’s the message:
Now we can say it…
YES! Four Horsemen Toy Design and Super 7 are going to be working together to continue Masters of the Universe Classics. You can all take a deep breath and relax now. Lol. It might take us a bit to get all of our ducks in a row, but we’re all working very hard to make this happen.
As for Thundercats? Four Horsemen and Super 7 are both VERY interested in working together to continue that as well, but those logistics are a little more complicated than MotU Classics. We’re pushing for it to happen, but that’s all we can really reveal for now. Please be patient and we’ll let you know as soon as we have something more solid to announce.
We’ll continue to update as more info becomes available.
Four Horsemen had a fantastic display of their Mythic Legions and Mythic Legions Avian Warriors at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.
Last week, the Mythic Legions 6″ Scale Figures went up for pre-order. You can still grab them by Clicking Here. IF you missed it, we had a bunch of photos from their excellent Toy Fair 2016 display. The Four Horsemen have released a few new images of the upcoming figures. Here’s what’s new:
People have had questions about the scale of the Mythic Legions Forest Troll and Stone Troll, as well as other questions. Soooo we’re just gonna let the pics do the talking.
Also, a couple of reveals here as well. Not only the first look at the enormous mace that is going to come with the Forest Troll, but also – because fans requested it – the extra skull heads that are going to come with the Ilgarr and Pixxus figures!
Read on to see the photos.
At Toy Fair 2016, we got a chance to check out the excellent Mythic Legions figures by Four Horsemen. These 6″ scale figure feature a wide variety of medieval style warriors. At 3:00 PM EST, pre-orders open for the Mythic Legion 1.5 Assortment at Shop Four Horsemen. More details direct from 4H:
Just a reminder that the StoreHorsemen.com pre-orders for the next group of Mythic Legions figures (ML1.5) will begin tomorrow – Friday February 26th – at 3:00pm EST. We’re going to run this pre-order until Monday, March 14th at 3:00pm EST, so that only gives you a couple of weeks to get your orders in for this pre-order release. Depending on the amount of pre-orders we get, there may be some up for sale through Store Horsemen again once the figures are in stock, but if there are, we don’t expect there to by too many, so pre-ordering now is your best bet to get the characters you want before they’re gone.
We apologize for the short pre-order time period, but we’re trying to get these pre-orders done and get the final orders in to the factory so that they can be finished and shipped to us in time for the figures to make their debut at the 2016 Power Con in June. It’s going to be tight, but it’s a good possibility that we can do it. The two trolls may take slightly longer, but we’re going to have them finished as well. Fingers crossed.
In the current images we have, the Forest Troll isn’t shown with a weapon. Rest assured that he will come with a huge spiked mace, and as soon as we have new photos of him with that, we’ll be posting them. Some of the other images are also shown with different weapons than were shown at the 2016 Toy Fair. The figures that were shown at Toy Fair a couple weeks ago depict a more accurate representation of the weapons they will each have.
It’s time to begin expanding the Legions. Tomorrow is your chance to start. Don’t miss out!
You will be able to pre-order by Clicking Here. We’ll bump this back up when pre-orders go live. Check out a few images by reading on.
