Muv-Luv Alternative Shiranui Storm and Strike Vanguard Version

Muv Luv Alternative Shiranui Storm and Strike Vanguard Version 009

Kotobukiya has revealed their upcoming Muv-Luv Alternative 1/144 Scale Shiranui “Storm & Strike Vanguard” Version. It’s due out in October. See details below and photos after the jump.

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Up next in the Muv-Luv Alternative model kit lineup is an elite Shiranui variant we’ve seen before in the Fine Scale Model kit that’s now joining its 1/144 brethren, the Shiranui Storm & Strike Vanguard Ver.! This model kit gives the TSF a new look and new equipment while retaining the classic robot’s unique modular armor, aerodynamic shape, and distinctive dual-horned head. The Storm & Strike Vanguard version features an evocative violet and purple color scheme and the incorporation of some parts molded in clear plastic, really giving it a whole new look that’ll stand out from your other Shiranui robots. Even better, it comes with great interchangeable armor and weapons like a huge shield, swords, and guns! Comprised of over 200 pre-colored pieces the Storm & Strike Vanguard version stands nearly 5 ½ inches tall (1/144 scale) and offers you plenty of posing and display options with excellent articulation.

Robotech MasterPiece Collection Alpha+Beta Plastic Giftsets

betafighterv1

CollectionDX talked with George Sohn of Toynami, and for you Robotech MasterPiece Collection(MPC) fans, the following news will brighten your day:

George said that the factory that did the Beta Fighters now have all the molds for the Alpha, and will tooling them from here on in. There is a possibility that we will see all plastic giftsets that include an alpha and beta in matching colors.

Aoshima was responsible for engineering and tooling of the Beta Fighter, and it is regarded as one of the very best toys in the MPC line. An all plastic release would be a more affordable option for fans, and reduce joint looseness, due to the lighter weight of plastic.

The plastic MPC Voltron has been successful for Toynami, and an all plastic Alpha Fighter has been on the wishlists of fans for quite some time.

Toynami Robotech MPC Beta Fighter In-hand Images!

Beta1

New in-hand images of Toynami’s long awaited MPC Beta Fighter have surfaced! After years of waiting, fans will finally be able to dock their Alpha Fighter MPC toys with their larger counterparts. This is the one of only three toys made of the Beta Fighter. The first was made by Gakken/Lansay, in very limited quantities, back in the 1980′s. The second was made from CMs corp earlier this year, and is not widely available outside of Japan. These two releases were sold under the Genesis Climber Mospeada banner as the Tread(the CMs version has only been sold as part of a set with it’s smaller Legioss counterpart). This toy will probably be sold by Aoshima in Japan, in Mospeada packaging, as part of Aoshima’s 1/48 Mospeada Action Model line. The Beta Fighter is a welcome addition to both Toynami’s masterpiece collection, and the fans of the Beta Fighter who never means to obtain one domestically, until now.
