The mutant mistress of magnetism, Polaris is also the daughter of Magneto. After a long sojourn in space she rejoined the ranks of X-Factor, fought alongside the X-Men against the Avengers, and now leads Serval Industries’ All New X-Factor.
Alison Blaire is a mutant whose superhuman powers first manifested themselves in her late adolescence. As an aspiring singer, Blaire was performing at a high school dance when her ability to transform sound into light first surfaced. Upon graduation she set out to make a name for herself in the entertainment world using her light powers to create spectacular effects as she sang. She used the stage name The Dazzler. Virtually no one knew that Blaire was a mutant; almost everyone in her audiences assumed that her lighting effects were created through technological means. Although Blaire had no intention of using her special powers to fight crime on a regular basis, time and again she found herself using them to thwart the criminal activities of gangsters and renegade superhumans.
Shatterstar is the biological son of former X-Men Longshot and Dazzler. However, due to a temporal paradox, he was also responsible for the creation of Longshot. It was revealed that because of Mephisto’s manipulation of Shatterstar by sending him back in time to the Mojoverse (along with Rictor), Shatterstar was discovered and experimented on by Arize who created Longshot from his DNA. As Longshot was genetically extrapolated from Shatterstar’s genes, Star was essentially Longshot’s father. This created a paradox when Longshot years later impregnated Dazzler who then gave birth to Shatterstar. Longshot and Dazzler were mindwiped to forget the pregnancy and the Shatterstar infant was sent 100 years to the future by his own adult self in order to maintain the consistency of the time line.

Growing up on his parents’ farm, Piotr Rasputin saw his older brother Mikhail become a Cosmonaut. Mikhail was later discovered to be a latent mutant with energy warping powers, and to keep him secret the government faked his death. In later years, Piotr learned that he too was a mutant, and could transform his flesh into steel, but he was content to use his powers to help his fellow farmers. When a transformed Piotr rescued his sister Illyana from a runaway tractor, he was approached by Professor Charles Xavier, who was recruiting mutants for a new team of X-Men to help save his original students from the sentient island Krakoa. Dubbed Colossus by Xavier, Piotr reluctantly joined this new team, which freed the original X-Men and helped defeat Krakoa. After the battle, Piotr remained with the X-Men in America, though he found it difficult to adjust to living in a different culture.
Shiro Yoshida grew up with a huge resentment against the United States. His mother was exposed to the radiation of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima and she died during his birth. His dad, a member of the Japanese Clan Yashida, became a diplomat to the United Nations and Shiro was pretty much raised by his uncle. Shiro’s uncle Tomo took him to a site in Hiroshima, and got him to touch the ground. There, the radioactive soil somehow triggered his mutation. Shiro trained for months before he was able to control his flame fully. His uncle Tomo was purely anti-America. He instilled his hatred upon Shiro and is responsible for giving him his costume and codename of Sunfire.

HISTORICAL DOCUMENTATION: With Thousands of their warriors falling to Stheno’s curse, Penthesilea and the Elite Amazon corps undertook a perilous mission. Raiding the Gorgon camp, they stole Stheno’s staff and used it to reverse the conversion spell on their former comrades. Most of the cursed died in the process; the handful who survived became deformed hybrid creatures. Despised by both human and Gorgon alike, these warriors retained their loyalty to the Gorgon Sisters and acted as infiltrators and spies, hoping that they would be accepted by the horde once again. Their ability to pass as human allowed them to gain access to places regular Gorgons could not.
TEMPORAL LOG: Atelis Warriors were adaptable, strong and surprisingly intelligent. Some who survived went their separate ways, living on their own in remote areas. It is possible that the stereotypical image of witches with distorted features and special powers has its basis in the tales of the Atelis Warriors.
