Next up at our look at wave 2 of Star Wars Black Series The Last Jedi figures is Maz Kanata. While Maz may not be the one everyone was waiting for, she is a very well done entry into the line. Sculpt, paint and it’s complexity and accessories are all top notch. She features moving glasses, a blaster, and comes with the chest seen in The Force Awakens that opens and closes and has the Anakin lightsaber inside! Read on to check out what she can do courtesy of Dorkside Toys!
Here is the latest update from Toyark sponsor Dorkside Toys.
DC Collectibles Designer Series takes a specific artist’s style and turns it into action figures. There have been several runs so far, the best being the Capullo Batman series. Earlier this year they dropped another solid set – DC Comic Bombshells. It features the art of Ant Lucia, who did the women of the DC Universe in WWII styles. Wave 1 was great, featuring Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Batwoman. Wave 2 is set to drop soon and features Hawkgirl, Mera, Katana and Batgirl. Again, all 4 are superbly done. We have them in hand so read on to check some additional thoughts and over 80 HD pics showing their stuff!
Wave 2 of Star Wars Black Series The Last Jedi figures are making their way out in greater numbers and today we begin our look at them with shots of Finn in First Order Officer Disguise, Leia in her General outfit from The Force Awakens, and Poe Dameron in his TLJ Captain look. All of them have pretty good likenesses for Black Series, and Poe’s beard is handled way better than the first go around. The star of the show is Finn in his Officer outfit, which went from an “eh” to a “yeah baby” after that trailer dropped. Read on to check out over 40 shots courtesy of Dorkside Toys!
Pinky – Gee Brain, what are we going to do tonight?
The Brain – The same thing we do every night Pinky. Try to take over the world!
Pinky and the Brain are back! Well, in Q-Fig form anyway! Pinky and the Brain were recurring baddies from the WB’s Animaniacs cartoon in the 90s. They had their own run from 1995 – 1999 via two shows. Products for these guys have been sparse in recent years, but we now have a pretty solid representation in the latest Q-Fig from QMX. The static statue-like set features both Pinky and the Brain overlooking plans to take over the world in a toon-accurate sculpt. This is the first of QMX’s Q-Fig TOON line, which will stay true to the designs of the original cartoons they come from. Both are spot on here and capture the essence of that show perfectly. They’ve also let us know that there will be more Animaniacs coming in 2018!
Read on to check out some shots of them hatching their plan for world domination (they might have gotten a little help…)
The Toyark continues it’s galleries for S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z today with a look at the revamped version of Super Saiyan 3 Goku! The energy effect piece seen in the original isn’t here. We’ve run him through a set showing what he can do, read on to check out over 35 HD pics!

Next up in our look at items that released early at NYCC from Bluefin and Tamashii Nations is the S.H. Figuarts Star Lord and Explosion set. This is another S.H. Figuarts release pairing a figure with a Tamashii Nations accessory piece. The explosion set consists of 3 exploding pieces in neon pink, playing off the funky tones seen on GotG. Star Lord dropped in Japan solo a while back, but the US version won’t be hitting state side for a bit. We’ve done up over 45 HD images so read on to check it and some additional thoughts out!
Tamashii Nations Marvel S.H. Figuarts release here in the States with added accessories. Iron Man has come with his Hall of Armor pieces, Dr. Strange came with his Flame Effects, and Spider-Man is coming with a modular wall piece. Today’s shoot looks at Spidey from Homecoming, the tech suit version. There is a home-made suit coming, also with a wall, soon. Spiderman features a full range of articulation, multiple eyes, tons of extra hands, a backpack, cellphone, and multiple webs. The webbing on the suit is slightly raised and there is texture throughout. The wall can be broken down and re-configured into a corner piece or straight front-on wall, depending on your needs. Each wall piece has multiple pop-out bricks that reveal a port for standard Tamashii stands to be inserted. It comes with one that has a u-bracket for resting Spidey in those swinging poses. All in all it’s a great set, read on to check some additional thoughts and 60 HD pics!
DC Icons is coming to an end with the arrival of DC Essentials next year, but we still have some before that happens! Select figures from the later waves that never released are dropping at the end of 2017, and one of those is the Super Sons 2 pack. This features Rebirth versions of Damian Wayne and Jon Kent in the small-ish 6 inch scale, meaning they are more like 4 inches or so. Each come with additional hands, Damian has hands with batarangs, along with a staff weapon. Jon has a clear riser so he can hover behind Damian. The sculpts and paint are fantastic overall. The Four Horsemen relayed via email that the new Power Lords line will not be moving forward. They put all the items up for pre-order, and even added in some troop builders, but the numbers just weren’t there. They only hit about 2/3rds of what they would have needed to proceed. All of us who did place pre-orders had them cancelled and the holds on cards have been released. We are saddened to hear this but that’s business. Hopefully some of these great sculpts can work their way out later on in some other way. You can read their full statement below.
Well we tried, and we want to thank everyone who pre-ordered, supported, and helped to spread the word for the Power Lords pre-order, but unfortunately, we just weren’t able to reach the milestone we needed to reach in order to be able to move forward with production. We were able to get about 2/3 of the way to where we needed to be, but even with support from outside resources, that still wasn’t quite enough to do the trick.
So, as much as we hate to say it, the Power Lords pre-orders through Store Horsemen are all being cancelled right now, the authorizations for the credit cards that were used are being cancelled, and those of you who placed pre-orders should be getting some sort of notice about that very soon.
We’re sincerely sorry that we couldn’t make this happen. Power Lords has been a passion of ours since childhood, but the numbers just aren’t there at the moment. We were able to gain some data from this experiment that will help us in some of our future sales and pre-orders, so it’s not completely a wash on our end. Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who tried hard to make this happen, but it just wasn’t a possibility this time around.
For now at least, Adam Power and the rest of the Power Lords are going to leave our solar system and go off on some top secret missions beyond the stars. Wish them luck!
