Overall
The Bride of Chucky set is packed in a great flapped window box. The front of the packaging features the films movie poster, along with film promo images on the sides. The back and inside of the box use Chucky’s stitching as a great design element, using them as frames for the product photos. The figures sit in a plastic tray and can easily be placed back in for safe keeping. With the figures, you get three head sculpts each for Chucky and Tiffany, swap out hands for both figures, interchangeable arms for Tiffany, two shovels, two pistols, two knives, an axe, a bottle of Champagne, the Heart of Damballa, a container with a special sample, and a turkey baster.
Right out of the box, the figures look fantastic. The sculpt work is very impressive on both figures. It’s great to see how much new sculpting Chucky has compared the the single figure release from 2017. While that version had a fairly clean look to it (save for the bloody head sculpts), this version has some rips and tears to the outfit. Tiffany has a much cleaner look, though to her sculpt work. But texturing detail is strong on both figures. Tiffany’s sculpt has some really nice satin and lace sculpt work on the dress top and arms, and the leather jacket has a distinct flat leather texture to it. Both figures look like great representations of their movie counterparts. Each of the three head sculpts for the figures look outstanding, with great likenesses to the dolls and each being unique enough to make it tough to pick a favorite. Swapping out parts was pretty easy for the most part. While Chucky’s ball joint neck was a little tough to swap the portraits at first, they connections loosened up a bit after a few swap outs. Tiffan’t portraits, and the hands for both figures presented no trouble. Tiffany’s arms do swap out, and those are firm connection points that require only a little force to remove and snap in. Be aware that the pegs on both arms are painted, and that paint flaked off very heavily while swapping them out.
Each figure has about 20 points of articulation, with solid joints throughout. I didn’t run into any locked joints, which is always a plus. The figures are light enough that they don’t require much help standing, which makes more dynamic poses a breeze. Paint work is handled beautifully on the figures. Since they’re already dolls (creepy living dolls, but still dolls), the toys look fairly realistic. Chucky’s bloody paint apps are a nice highlight here, as the blood is red and the wounds fairly gross looking. Tiffany has some nice touches as well, including a bit of make up applied to the face, and a clean and sharp tattoo on her chest.
The accessories offer a nice variety of display options. The included hands can hold the guns, shovels and other items with no trouble. There’s nice call backs to both Bride and Seed of Chucky with the accessories, with fans of the franchise sure to notice the glass jar and turkey baster. The detail work on the Heart of Damballa is impressive, with both sides rendered sharply.
In the end, this is a fantastic 2-pack that’s easy to recommend to horror fans. If you picked up the initial Chucky release, these are great companion pieces. If you haven’t yet, then this is a great spot to start, with plenty of weapons, lots of swap out parts, and two great figures. Check out some select photos below and the full gallery after that.
