Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts The Dark Knight Batpod
Overall Thoughts:
Really, really good. When SHF decided to go back and do TDK stuff, I was iffy about it. Not due to quality, just because TDK has been done repeatedly by multiple brands. Their Batman figure was stellar. The Joker was solid depending on which head you used. The Batpod however shines as an awesome compliment to the Christian Bale Batman. Coupled together they stand out as centerpiece level display pieces. The bike is fully functional. It has rubber wheels that have steering capability turning left/right. The handlebars also have rotation, allowing for fine tuned positioning. The knee rests move on a ball joint with rotating pads so you can fit Batman in there regardless of the initial pose. Both the front and back wheels rotate around on a spring joint so you can recreate the tumble scene from the movie. An EMP rifle from The Dark Knight Rises comes with the set and connects to the bike, as does hands for plugging into the control sticks on the handle bars and a hand for the rifle. There isn’t a lot of paint going on, but it’s done well where it needs it. A sheened grey covers the panels along with random weathering while the rest remains black. Lastly it comes with a Bat Symbol shaped stand and two poles, one for regular poses and a taller one to pose out jump / wheelie shots. They plug in the bottom and allow for a slight tilt in any direction.
Bottom line, it works perfectly with the SHF TDK Batman, and together they stand out in any collection. Looks sharp as hell just sitting there. Check it out for yourself below! It should be in stock at US retailers soon.
