Today we wrap up our look at Boss Fight Studio‘s Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Series 2 Wave 2. The first two were revealed earlier in the month with Felonious The Mage and the Knight of Asperity. Today we get a first look at their wave mates – the Orc Warband Leader and the Narissa – Leader of the Withered Branch! Both are female warriors keeping the first two waves with an even ratio of male to female.
Series 2 is now in the pre-order phase and has a Fantasy theme. We’ve seen wave 1 (and here) and today shows us the rest of the second wave.
On top of these 8 figures, there is also one more Series 2 figure – the NJCC Convention Exclusive red Orc, aka the Blasted Land Orc. You can check out a full set of pics for that as well here.
Read on to check it all out including a bio for the Orc Warband Leader! Series 2 Wave 1 is up for pre-order now, and Wave 2 will be dropping soon!
Narissa – Leader of the Withered Branch
Narissa is the elder sister of Queen Solan, the current overall ruler of the Elves. Elven hierarchy is complex and given their long lifespans, Elves give great thought to picking their leader. Narissa and Solan were in line for the crown, but the Elven elders deemed Solan’s attributes to be more worthy of overall leadership. Narissa believed herself to be the better candidate and, as the older sibling, the natural choice for the throne. Consumed by jealousy, she went into exile with over three hundred of her loyalists. Calling themselves the ‘withered branch’ they went on an expedition to find a mythical weapon of mass destruction, with the intention of using it to overthrow Queen Solan. At this time, her whereabouts are unknown.
Temporal Log
Narissa led her followers to a place called ‘The Blasted Land’. A toxic waste that is believed to hold innumerable strange and dangerous creatures. Hers is not the first expedition to disappear in this area, the Knights of Accord lost many of their number in that location as well. What could exist there that could claim the lives of so many trained soldiers? And why are so many drawn to it when it is clear that none can survive? Even now, many travel to the region to seek the rumored fortunes and incredible power that is said to be there. These travelers rarely return, and never with their minds and bodies intact.
Orc Warband Leader
Female Orcs are a rarer breed than the male variety. Because of this, they occupy a revered position in the Orc culture. The females are not as physically strong as the males, but are much smarter. Oftentimes, a female Orc will have overall command of a war party or, if not, you can be very sure that behind every good male leader there is a canny female pulling his strings. The females can think tactically, aren’t as prone to berserker rages and are more approachable if one to hire some Orcs for a job. The females are physically as strong as human males and, having grown up in an environment where warfare is commonplace, are ferocious opponents in battle.
Temporal Log:
Possibly 1 in fifty Orcs are female, but she makes up for the other 49 in terms of cool headedness, negotiation skills and sheer craftiness. Whereas the males are territorial and pack oriented, it isn’t unusual to see females on their own, traveling or their own purposes or scouting out terrain; something the males never do.
