Tamashii Nations along with Bluefin are finally releasing Marvel S.H. Figuarts in the United States. In order to differentiate themselves from existing license holders (we assume), each piece will be coming with larger extras, environment pieces and the like. The first of these is the Iron Man 2 Mark 6 suit with a Hall of Armor display. This was originally a Tamashii Web exclusive in Japan, and the figure itself has been significantly redone since it’s first release (see here). It will be dropping soon in the States at roughly 120 USD. We’ve got our copy in hand so read on to check out over 60 HD images and some quick thoughts!
S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mk 6 With Hall of Armor
Overall
Generally I lean more toward DC universe for my comic fix, but I do dig me some Iron Man. I guess it’s my robot roots with Transformers, but a good figure of Iron Man armor always hits the spot. This figure does that. Sleek, well articulated. Stiff joints hold a pose. Diecast in the feet to help with balance. Metallic sheen paint throughout. Structurally and visually it’s everything you want in a higher end figure.
A nitpick negative is that the joints are tight, so when going to re-pose it can cause his shoulder parts that are swappable to pop off easily. I’d rather have it tight and deal with this than some drooping arms though.
The Hall is a nice addition. It takes 3 AAA batteries and lights up via the sides and top. It’s a great shelf addition to mix up a dense figure line up. If they actually do what they have shown in full, that will be an epic display. I hope they do, and do it in the states as well so we don’t have to jump through import hoops.
Bottom line, great figure and set. If you’re looking for an upgrade to your MK 6 armor, it’s well worth a pick up!
