We here at the Toyark are big fans of the DC Collectibles Capullo Designer Series figures. However, these are not the only Designer Series figures out there. Different artists have had runs including Ant Lucia with Bombshells, Lee Bermejo and Jae Lee. Next up is Amanda Conner with 4 different Harley Quinn figures. Amanda Conner has been doing great work on the Harley Quinn books at DC, and they decided to celebrate that with 4 different crazy designs for Harley straight from the comics. Included are: Spacesuit Harley Quinn, Superhero Harley Quinn, Holiday Harley Quinn, and Traditional Harley Quinn. Each come with accessories linked to their appearance in the books.
We’ve got all four in hand and have run them through a shoot, read on to check over 70 HD images!
Overall: These are a fun set of figs for Harley collectors. They represent her at her best in quirky situations. The accessories are all crazy, in a good way.
The Superhero Harley has a giant cartoonish head, which if you dip in water can fill up reservoirs in her hair buns that can then be squeezed so she sweats/cries.
The Spacesuit Harley comes with a giant Pizza Dude (who is much bigger in the comics), but the key is that it has scratch-n-sniff style pizza scent on it. Without the scratch. As soon as I opened this thing the room stunk like weird faux pepperoni pizza. Cool in theory, but sucks when you are 1 foot from it under hot lights for an hour.
Holiday Harley is a bit more traditional with a Christmas gift wrapped mallet and bomb.
Lastly, Traditional Harley comes with Bernie, the taxidermied beaver that only Harley can talk to. He is made of squishy rubber like material with a hole in his gut so you can see his innards. Squishing him makes the guts protrude. So yeah, some crazy accessories all around.
The figures themselves are 7 inch scale with average articulation. No double joints or rockers. No extra hands. No waist or torso cuts. They are meant to be configured and posed in a traditional stance. Each comes with a stand that is nice, you can fly a leg out or pose on one leg with them. Paint on them all are well done, a rich red, black and white in various applications. Some are glossy, some less so depending on the figure.
Bottom line, they are fun and capture the essence of the Amanda Conner Harley Quinn work perfectly. Harley collectors should jump all in, or pick up one of the 4 that suit you specifically!
