DC Collectibles have launched another sub-line in their array of DC themed action figures. This time it’s called DC Films and will focus on, you guessed it, characters from the DC Extended Universe movies. These are higher end 7 inch figures and feature above average articulation, paint, sculpt and materials. They’re meant to fill that void we have here in the states that usually forces us to import lines such as Mafex, Revoltech and S.H. Figuarts. But not quite as high end as the Mezco One:12 figures. Right there in the middle. They’ve shown off a ton already from Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, but there have been reshuffles and cancellations since then. For now, the first two are out, and what comes after that, and when, is unknown. Today we’ll take a look at the first entry – Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Armored Batman. It’s a beast of a figure, towering over standard 7 inch scale figures. Read on to check out over 50 images courtesy of site sponsor Entertainment Earth!
DC Collectibles DC Films Armored Batman
Nice. I’ve found myself drawn to the 7 inch scale over the last year. Any time a solid offering comes out in that class, I’m usually content with it for longer than it’s smaller/larger counterpart. If everything worked with Marvel Legends exactly, in scale, design style, and all that, I’d prefer that for every line. But no one seems to want to play nice. Since everyone is going their own way, then I’d prefer the 7 Inch scale that these are in. Batman comes in a bit over 7.25 inches, while Superman is at 6.75. It’s a full on collector’s piece as it has articulation at every point needed, paint and weathering, quality sculpts. Extra hands and heads. Batman here has light up eyes. Accessories are present but not crazy. Bottom line, it’s the best Armored Batman yet when you factor in price. Mezco’s is a tad higher quality overall, but, it was almost triple the price with shipping (110+SH) and smaller . These run between 40 and 50 bucks. So long as DC Collectibles continues the line over time, and fills in the ranks, I’m game. It will be my primary DC line to focus on, the Capullo Designer Series coming in behind that.
