We wrap up our DC Collectibles Capullo Designer Series galleries today with a look at Zero Year Survival Batman. This rendition of the Bats shows off his look from the Zero Year story arc telling his first year as Batman and the Riddler’s eventual take over of Gotham. It’s his first major act as the Batman, he’s wearing a proto Batsuit with more real world accessory tech meant for infiltration so he can liberate the city. The figure is one of the sharpest yet so let’s take a look after the break courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store!

Overall
Overall – awesome entry into the Batman line up. There are a couple sticking points though. He’s tall, way taller than his previous releases in this line. I guess the new molding didn’t account for continuity among the existing Batmen, but he is noticeably taller even with the legs spread and abs crunched. Second – the backpack, while awesomely sculpted and painted, doesn’t come off, and crossbow doesn’t come out. That would have been cool. Personally I’m ok with this, but it’s a feature that definitely would have added awesome factor. The overall sculpt and paint is top notch – multiple shades of brown and tan for the gear – military green straps, purple gloves and the normal Batman grey and black. Sharply applied everywhere. One key point that I wasn’t aware of and was pleasantly surprised with – the rope and hook on his belt – it uses a twine like material, that bendable paper-bag-ish material you use to tie up packages. It adds a level of texture to the figure you don’t normally see. Wonder Woman’s sparkly lasso was similar in using unique materials this wave. Bottom line, even with the height issue – worth a pick up!
