Overall
The Predator Accessory Pack comes packed in a nice, collector friendly window box. The box has Predator jungle themed artwork throughout. the back of the box showcases the accessories being used in a dio display, as well as the Plasmacaster effects attached to two Predator figures. The accessories are sitting in a plastic tray, with only the skinned body held down by a twist tie. The pieces can be removed easily and placed back into the tray for easy storage. The box also makes a good display if you have nowhere to hang the skinned body. Also included is a thermal vision jungle display, which makes a nice dio backdrop for any of the Jungle Predator figures. In the box, you will find a skinned body, two Plasmacaster effects pieces, a bloody skull with spine, a regular skull with spine, a human skull and an Alien Xenomorph skull.
Each of the Plamsacaster firing effects are designed to work, mainly, with the Jungle Hunter Predator (blue piece) and the City Hunter Predator (orange piece). The blue piece features a rounded connector piece, with a small connector to place inside the rounded end of the cannon. The orange piece features a rectangular connector point, which fits over the end of Predator 2 style cannons. The pieces are soft enough to stretch over other, none Predator 1 or 2 Plasmacasters. I found that the blue piece works especially well with the AvP Predators. In this case, I used the Ancient Warrior Predator or many of the photos. I found the orange piece to fit a little easier on the Predator 2 VGA figure I used. For the blue piece, you have to apply an extra bit of pressure at the correct angle. Once you do, it’s on there perfectly and won’t come off until you want to remove it.
The skinned body is the real star of the set. This accessory is modeled after the skinless victims of the Jungle Hunter Predator seen in the original Predator film. It’s made of a light weight rubber. The sculpting on the victim is excellent, with a great grasp of anatomy. The body is painted in a deep blood red with both light and dark washes applied to give it a fresh bloody look. Even better, the entire piece is covered in a clear coat that gives a wet paint look. It’s light enough that it will be easy to hang using a figure stand or tying it to a diorama piece like I did. You can also have one of the taller AvP Predators hold him up by the ankles using twine or one of the gripped hands. If you purchased NECA’s Uncharted Nathan Drake, that figure includes an extra, longer, rope that can be used here if you want. The skulls have all been previously released. They’re excellently sculpted and work with any of the Predator figures. The Xenomorph skull has a connector point on the bottom if you’d like to connect it to one of the Predator staffs as well.
With the Aliens Creature Pack and now the Predator Accessory Pack, NECA is off to a great start. The Plasmacaster effects and the skinned body are going to please fans for sure. The entire package is perfect for purchasing multiples, and can be pre-ordered for as little as $20 right now. Look for this set to hit stores within the next month or so. Below are some highlight photos, with over 60 photos after that.
