Yesterday, we shared word that Gentle Giant has three new Star Wars Mini Busts that will be available exclusively at GameStop. The first of those busts, The Star Wars: A New Hope – Stormtrooper Bust is available now. I was able to track one down and grab it, and I have a full photo shoot to check out.
Star Wars Stormtrooper Mini Bust Statue – Available Now
With ties that go all the way back to the Super Commandos of Mandalor, the Stormtrooper legions have struck terror in the many beings throughout the Star Wars Galaxy. Lead by Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine, these white armor clad troopers have helped the Empire gain strength for many years leading up to the ultimate demise of Palpatine, which they seemingly survived as well.
Depicted as the Stormtroopers appear in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the Gentle Giant Ltd. 1:6 Stormtroper Classic Bust combines the timeless aesthetics of sculpture from Greek and Roman antiquity, with one of popular cultures most recognizable characters
Each limited edition hand-painted polyresin bust comes individually numbered and is paired with a matching certificate of authenticity.

Gentle Giant Star Wars: A New Hope – Stormtrooper Bust – GameStop Exclusive
- Great sculpt
- Nice shiny armor
- Clean paint work
- Goes great with Darth Vader Bust
Available exclusively via Gamestop, the bust can be found online or in some stores. I was able to just walk into a store and grab it, but looks like it may have been the only one in stock. It comes packaged in a nice collector friendly box. The box has photos of the bust, as well as a nice bit of Star Wars info on the back. The bust itself sits inside a styrofoam insert, allowing it to easily be put back for storage. A small hand numbered card is also included. No assembly is required, it’s ready for display as soon as it’s opened.
The bust itself is cast in polyresin and stands just about 6″ tall. It has a very museum quality feel to it, using a classical style base to affix the bust to. The bust is a solid, surprisingly weighty piece. The Stormtrooper armor is sculpted perfectly, with attention to detail throughout. The white armor pieces have a great new shine to them, contrasting the more fabric look of the black under armor pieces. There’s a small bit of paint work, mainly on the helmet. Each of the paint lines are very crisp and clean, with no paint bleed noticeable. the white of the armor has just the slightest off white color tint to it, adding to the realistic look here. In a lot of ways, it looks like someone disassembled a Hot Toys Stormtrooper and placed it atop a base.
I couldn’t be happier with this pick up. The Stormtrooper looks fantastic, especially with Darth Vader. It’s fairly inexpensive for the quality work and looks every bit the high end collectible it sets out to be.
