Today we’re gonna run a catch up gallery for a figure that released (but kind of didn’t) late last year – the exclusive Star Wars Black Series Emperor’s Wrath Darth Vader. He dropped in limited numbers around the country and online, but was in and out. Fast. Just recently has he started to show up again. Don’t fret though, he can be found for a slight mark up at our sponsor Big Bad Toy Store. If you count up all the gas needed to run routes looking for him and you Pile of Loot him, the mark up pays for itself. My gas tank will vouch for that.
Anyway, this is the original Black Series Vader with some new tweaks – he has a new clear plastic head sculpt to celebrate the scene in Return of the Jedi when he gets zapped by the Emperor. He also has a new hand which detaches to let you recreate the battle with Luke. Otherwise, he’s generally the same. Let’s take a look after the break courtesy of BBTS!

Overall
Overall this was a fun figure. The head sculpt is way better than the multi piece one from the original version. Anyone with paint skills would be well served to paint this bad boy up. The addition of the severed hand is awesome, even the 1970’s inner radio circuitry is represented with red blue and green paint for the wires. The soft good parts seem to be a tad darker black then my original release, but just slightly, and that could be batch to batch differences. Another nice touch – there are electric bolts painted on the inside of the helmet on the head. Bottom line, great repaint/mold, glad they did it. Pick yours up asap!
