What is old is new again, in more ways than one! Mattel‘s Masters of the Universe Classics gets a refresh with Classics 2.0, and kicking things off will be the Filmation Animated line via Club Grayskull. Core characters are being redone with animated sculpts and paint along with show only characters that never had toys back in the 80s. Today we are taking a look at the first release from this line – none other than He-Man himself! Let’s get right to it, check out over 70 high res shots and some quick thoughts after the break!

Overall
I have been out of MOTUC for a long time. Picked up random pieces earlier in the run. I can’t say I’m a hardcore MOTU guy, but I do dig it. 80s nostalgia hits hard here. Had some as kid, collected the 200x line in full, watched the show(s), picked up some of the recent DC Comics. When Matty decided to soft reboot with MOTUC 2.0, and they actually looked good and improved, I figured it was time to jump back on the train. He-Man and Skeletor popped at SDCC and I knew I was hooked. Will I go years deep with this style if they decide to do it? Probably not. But I do want a nice core line up for each side and they are off to a good start. The He-Man featured below hits all the right points, feels good in the hand. The head sculpt is amazing and captures the show’s look perfectly. Can’t ask for anything more. I’ll let the pics do the talking though, check out over 70 shots below!
Key shots here, full set after that!
