The newest 10″ Deluxe Figure release from McFarlane Toys is The Walking Dead TV Series Vigilante Rick Grimes. This is a retooled and repainted version of their previously released 10″ Rick Grimes. I finally decided to jump in on this line, as I had been wanting a few Walking Dead statues, and these were looking good and were fairly affordable compared to most statue lines. So here’s our first gallery for The Waling Dead Deluxe Figure line.
Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth provided the Vigilante Rick Grimes for us to check out. Read on to see over 40 high resolution images and a full review.

Overall
The Rick Grimes comes packaged in a collector friendly window box. The box opens from the side and the plastic tray slides out. The statue (I’ll be calling it a statue from here on out) is held in by a few twist ties. However, you can snap it back onto the tray for storage or in-package display after opening. The overall look of the package is decent, but nothing that would warrant a display on its own. This is something best served by an out of package display.
The Rick Statue stands 10″ tall. It includes a bloody machete, a knife, metal chains and a pistol. It has a swap out arm to display him holding either the machete or the pistol. The pistol can also be kept in the holster on his hip when not in use. The arms swap out fairly easily. The hands on the extended right arm are a little tight. Best to heat up a little bit the first few times you want to swap out the weapons. The statue has good weight distribution and stands with no issues. The plastic has solid feel to it, and I didn’t run into any soft or brittle areas. When swapping weapons, they never felt in danger of snapping. Overall, the construction is solid with no QC issues spotted.
The sculpted quality here is excellent. The folds in the clothes, the skin texture and small details all turned out well. There are nice nods to the show, such as Rick’s watch and wedding ring. It has a decent likeness to actor Andrew Lincoln as they 3D scan the actors for these collectibles. The pose is nice, though not quite as dynamic as the previously released Michonne or Daryl. However, this pose allows for the statue to stand without issue, as both of the other statues take a little more work to keep them standing. The paint is also pretty solid as well. The eyes look good, the skin tone is spot on and the splattered bloody paint adds nice depth to it. There are multiple layers of paint on each area, which helps to enhance the sculpted details.
The Vigilante Rick Grimes is a great release in this line. It’s the statue that convinced me to start picking these up and I really enjoy the look of it. Calling this a “figure” is a bit of a stretch, but if you want a good, low cost statue, then it’s absolutely worth grabbing.
