Titan has been releasing an assortment of blind boxed and special 2-packs for a wide assortment of licenses. Their take on the vinyl figure craze has produced some really excellent vinyl figures. We’ve taken a look at a few of their assorted licenses such as Doctor Who and X-Files. Now we’re taking a look at two of their Alien Vinyl Figure 2-Packs. These include the Ellen Ripley (Mid-Outfit Change) and Acid Spitting Big Chap Alien and the Brain-Splatter Dennis Parker and Bloody Big Chap Alien sets. Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth provided the figures. We have over 70 high resolution images and a full review.
Titan Alien Vinyl Figure 2-Packs
- Creepily adorable
- Fun vinyl Big Chap Aliens
- 2-Packs include nice backdrops
- Hey, it’s Parker!
- Removable inner jaw on Big Chaps
- Not much you can do with them once opened
- Odd outfit choice for Ripley
The Alien vinyl 2-packs are a fun addition to the growing ranks of vinyl collectibles out there. I am not a fan of blind boxed/bagged items in any way. So knowing what I am getting is always a plus. The figures come packaged in a collector friendly window box. The figures sit in a plastic tray and include a great printed diorama backdrop. Once opened, you can easily put them back on the trays and in the box for storage or display.
The vinyl figures are about what you’d expect from a Titan vinyl. They feel similar to Funko’s Pop! Vinyl line. The two human characters have uniquely sculpted heads and bodies. Parker has a brain splattered paint job, which pairs nicely with the bloody Big Chap included. Ripley’s design is a bit of an odd choice. Here’s she’s painted to appear as if she is in the middle of putting on a Nostromo space suit. It doesn’t quite achieve that look. The two Big Chaps, however, are quite excellent. They feature solid sculpted details, while retaining the simplistic look of a stylized vinyl figure. The Big Chaps also feature removable inner jaws. The paint is solid all around and it’s always nice to see Parker get some type of release, even if it’s not an actor likeness.
If you’re not a vinyl fan, these likely won’t sway you. If you’re into Titan’s vinyl releases, or are into collecting fun Alien figures, these are great pick ups. They’re well made, feature good paint apps and have a great overall package.
