The Toyark is happy to continue it’s galleries for S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z figures today with Android 17! Android 17 was a natural next step after the previous release of his robo-sister, Android 18. Key players in the Cell Saga, they are definitely worthy of some shelf space along with Cell, Trunks, SS Vegeta, and Gohan, all previously released. So, how does Android 17 stack up with the rest? Check out our thoughts and over 50 shots in action after the break courtesy of site sponsor Entertainment Earth!
Oh, and for those who never jumped into Dragonball Z but have thought about it – the condensed, remastered, unedited (for blood etc) version begins re-airing again on the network that started the US DBZ craze over a decade ago – Cartoon Network, and specifically, Toonami. Now a more adult block, weekly instead of daily, Toonami will be airing these starting with episode 1 THIS WEEKEND. Set your DVR’s now, check the trailer below!
S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z Android 17
Sculpt is great
Build quality good, feels nice in hands
Posing a bit easier than some previous DBZ SHF
Pairs with 18 well
Folded arms tech MUCH better than previous releases
Very happy with this release. Neither 17 or 18 scream out I MUST HAVE, but, they are core characters in the DBZ story and therefore deserve some representation on the shelf. Articulation is top notch, if you have the energy or patience to pose these guys up, you can do it. Alternate hands, faces, hair, and bandana allow you to show them off in motion or just chilling. Personally though, now that I’ve run them through their photo session battles, they’ll be cross armed and staring down their foes unimpressed. Pick him up if you can, and check our S.H. Figuarts Reference guide if you want to catch up on this line so far!
