- All-Star Zombie
- Engineer Zombie
- Cactus
- Peashooter (x2)
- Sunflower
The figures are based, not on the garden defense games, but on EA’s Garden Warfare. There they take some of the designs and settings from the Plants vs Zombies series and drop them into an over the top multi-player shooter.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Series 1 Minimates
Pros
- Great character design
- You get 6 characters
- Included figure stands
- Great for troop builders
Cons
- Plants could use some articulation
Overall
When Diamond Select Toys announced the acquisition of the Plants vs Zombies license, I was ecstatic. I always believed that the cartoon designs of the series would work wonderfully as Minimates. I was just a tad disappointed when I saw that these were based on Garden Warfare, and not the characters from PvZ 1 or 2. However, the characters and plants they chose for this set could just as easily be from the 2D games, which is a major plus in my book. Also in the packaging are Booster codes that can be used to unlock content on the Xbox 360 and/or Xbox One version of the game.
The set is a nice value, as you get total of 6 characters. They start off with two of the most recognizable designs in the Engineer and Football Zombies and give you three unique plants (doubling up on the Peashooter). So, right out of the box, you have yourself a nice squad to set up your own display. Also, with these designs you have figures that work great as troop builders. And with Minimates having interchangeable parts, you can really mix it up as you add multiples of a single Zombie design.
The included Plants do lack the articulation of most Minimates. Each can turn its head and that’s about it. they are just Plants, though, and how much articulation could have been squeezed out there is probably questionable. Bottom line this is a solid set for fans of the series, even if you’re not big on the specific game these are based on. At $20 for six figures, it’s a great bargain. The set is available now, as is a Toys “R” Us exclusive set.
