The Toyark’s catch up galleries for S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z continue today with Super Saiyan Goku! We’ll be doing a gallery a day until they are all up and done! This second release in the line features Goku in his manga colors, more yellow than orange, in Super Saiyan form. He is the base figure for multiple releases so far, with potentially more to come. Check out our thoughts and over 25 shots after the break, and make sure to check back each day for a new SHF DBZ gallery!
S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z Super Saiyan Goku
Pros
Great poseability
Hand selection is on point
Cons
Not a fan of the Manga colors
Scream face is a bit over the top, leaving only stern look as an option
Overall
Overall, an awesome Goku figure. The SDCC colors were better, and really the non-Super Saiyan gi color is better than that. This, coupled with his SS hair, is a bit too sunshine for my tastes. The scream face is super animated, so if you don’t dig that then the only option is to use the stern look face. I wish there was an in-between as well. The non-SS version addressed that, but, would have been nice here too. The figure shot here is a reprint version from 2014, they’ve re-run him and piccolo a couple times now. From what I can tell, there are no major differences between print runs. He is currently available at online retailers and places that carry DBZ SHF, so if you want to jump in, grab him.
