The DC Collectibles Greg Capullo Designer Seires figures were originally going to be split on initial release, with Batman and Talon dropping first, then Nightwing and Riddler. That didn’t happen, and all four dropped yesterday (check your local shops or online retailers). Today we’re serving up galleries for Nightwing and Riddler, with Nightwing up first. Make sure to check our Batman and Talon shoots from yesterday while you’re at it! Read on to check out over 30 pics and some brief thoughts!
DC Collectibles Designer Series Greg Capullo Nightwing
Pros:
Great sculpt.
Works well with Batman
More articulation than the New 52 version
Cons:
Paint or tight mold lead to arm breaking
Hip joints loose, prone to falling or leaning back
Details get lost in full black
Overall:
This is my least favorite of the bunch. I had a breakage issue with the arm as well. Can’t 100% tell why, but I **think** that the figure was painted black, and that paint got into the peg hole which connects the glove to the forearm. That then made the turning of that joint stiff – and snap. OR – the mold left the peg hole too small, and snap. OR – it wasn’t supposed to move, and I moved it. But, Batman’s arm twisted there, similar construction, so I assumed it was supposed to. Either way, a little Krazy Glue, back in action. I really think the all black lower half could have used a slight wash or dark charcoal highlights just to break it up. But, that could have equally messed things up, this is Nightwings look after all. I have it this way, so I want it the other way. I’m sure it’d be reversed if I had the wash. Overall – average figure, but nice to have Nightwing to go along with the Batman figure in this series.
