Bluefin Tamashii Nations has revealed a S.H. MonsterArts King Kong. The figure is based on the 2005 King Kong remake done by Peter Jackson. Creation of the figure was overseen by Richard Taylor of WETA, the special effects company who helped create the creature for the film. Look for it to be released April/May 2013 at a price of 5,775 Yen (about $67 USD).

i want it as well, I dont even care about monsters..

60 dollars is a kick in the balls though. this figure is only 6 inches after all (im guessing)

Oh man, I really can't express just how damn excited I am for this figure. The '05 Kong movie is easily one of my top 20 favorites (seriously confused on all the hate for it) and this looks like an absolute masterpiece.

Granted its probably a verrrryyyy long shot, but please Bluefin! make a monsterarts V-rex in scale with Kong at some point down the line.... I will easily buy 3, to recreate the badass battle royale from the film!

What's the size? Looks like it would make a PERFECT articulated Gorilla Grodd XD.

I came into this thread to ask this exact question. I had the same thought of it being Gorilla Grodd.
