As a kid, many of us grew up watching reruns (and even original airings for some of us) of the classic 1960’s Batman TV Show. The show featured the great Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. It also gave us other great actors like Cesar Romero as Joker and Burgess Meredith as the Penguin. The show was originally produced by 20th Century Fox. Warner Bros, who now owns the Batman property, was never able to strike a deal to license the show or the likenesses of the actors and characters from it…Until now.
Variety is reporting that Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and the actors have struck a deal. The deal will allow for WB to produce a wide range of new products, including TOYS, based on the show and its characters. This will also allow other companies to license the show and characters. Can you imagine a Hot Toys Adam West Batman? Warner Bros. Consumer Products will be introducing the licensing opportunities at the Licensing Expo. That runs June 12-14 in Las Vegas.
