Yamato has updated their blog with new details concerning their upcoming 1/60 YF-19 rerelease. The YF-19 was the 1st 1/60 Macross Plus toy by Yamato, and since it was the “hero mecha” of the popular OVA series/movie, it’s fitting to see it rereleased.
The differences for this rerelease came about when some of Yamato’s staff re-watched Macross Plus. The last 2 releases of the YF-19, the Double Nuts & Bird Of Prey, were said to have the tightest joints and overall best quality of Yamato’s YF-19 releases. Chances are, the upcoming rerelease will either surpass those or be about the same in quality. Here are how this release differs from previous versions:
- All new box(which might be a closed box with no window flap, like the VF-0 Phoenix rereleases from a few months ago)
- Molded in brighter body color
- As a result of the brighter body color, the overall finish is more delicate(or subtle? Most likely in appearance, as Yamato’s tampo printed markings do not rub/scratch off very easily)
*A reminder was also posted by Yamato, the FAST pack set for the YF-19 & YF-21 will be out soon! Also, Summer Wonderfest 2010 starts July 25th! Keep your eyes peeled for all new goods!*
