Astro Plan DX Squadron Leader YF-10 Type Yi Fighter

Astro-Plan-Type-Yi-16

A skin brick of ACToys has posted new images of presumably the squadron leader mecha DX YF-10 Type Yi fighter from the Astro Plan, a series with too many similarities with Macross Frontier and Gundam 00 to even be called coincidental! Oh and yes, that is the UN Spacy kite symbol you see molded on the plane.

Like the VF-25S Messiah from Macross Frontier, and the iconic VF-1S Roy Focker Special, this squadron leader mecha features a gray body with yellow and black trim. Plus a white symbol on the vertical stabilizers. And a gerwalk mode that probably won’t be called gerwalk mode but definitely is a gerwalk mode.

Transformation is said to be very similar to the 1/55 VF-1 Valkyrie by Takatoku. Range of articulation is also similar. Also shown is a Type Yi from a smaller scale line, that looks like the VF-25G Mikhail Custom from Macross F.

No word on if these toys will make it stateside eventually, but if anything they do carry a cheap price tag. Click on the title bar to see new figures from the latest series to take more than just ideas from Macross!

Looks like the Chinese team that did the prelim work on the Bandai DX VF-25 worked on that "Roy Fokker" color YF-10. The same dinky landing gears and a blob in the cockpit. I guess they got fired from Bandai and are now working on this. :P

Please. It's clear that this is the development team from Yamato that built the Macross Zero valks; since Yamato wouldn't do a VF-0D, they took their dreams of building a delta-wing valk with them when they built these.

LoL. I wonder how the build quality is, though I have heard the hands might be fragile. Looks like a combination of the 1/55 VF-1, movie Starscream, and the DX VF-25. I have heard these are cheap so maybe they might be fun to play with.

looks like fun to play with that's for sure. reminds me of the Chinese version of GIJoe i saw in Hong Kong back in December. there was a cartoon and all.

I applaud their intial efforts at a cartoon and toy tie-in. Yeah ok it isn't original and it's a copy but i guess one must start somewhere.

    Wow!

They took design elements of the VF-1, VF-25 and the VF-2SS in this toy!!!

Is there anything original coming out of the Chinese anime industry?
